I'd rather live as if there is. And find out there is not.

Well worded question!

That's not what it means. Not even I can explain but that's far off what it means. Seems like to me your teaching false doctrine. {You know God has his eye on you} Also I am happy I came across your sight today. The only way to get into Heaven my friend's is to live your life for God; not meaning you won't make some mistakes on the way. But the big thing will be erased and as you grow you will see yourself becoming better. Don't give up and don't listen to people like this person. It will deceive you. God Bless everybody!

I live my life like I want to. I will not participate in rituals that are wierd to me. I live by the Golden Rule- do unto others as you would do unto yourself. I appreciate the earth- I notice its beauty and thank God- or whatever it is everyday for being alive. I do not believe in organized religion- I do not believe that God is something to fear- I think God is about love and loving everyone and everything. From what I have seen in my life- I havent seen a church yet that does that. God or whatever it is, the Supreme Being I dont think cares if you go to church every Sunday, put money in a basket, or cares if you wear certain types of clothing, I think He cares about your actions and how you treat people and what you really think and feel about things. Just my opinion.

You mean waste your life, not having any fun while looking forward to an afterlife that isn't, or live fully only to find out there was some mean jerk of a 12 year old brat God at the end of it to slap you down? I'm hoping you both are wrong and there's actually something Good at the end.

The problem with Pascal's Wager, as this alludes to, is that it presumes that there is no consequence to living one's life as a lie. Indeed, there *are* economic, social and personal consequences to living a lie. People should, in my opinion, live their life as they believe as long as such does not harm others.

Anyway, if there *is* a God and I live my life in deference to it for the sole purpose of going to Heaven (or whatever), I expect God will know that.

O.K.

Which God?

There are quite a few and many of them say (allegedly) that they will be upset if you pick one of the others.

If God wants me to worship him then all he has to do is provide some clear evidence that he exists.

The answer to your question is no. I would rather live as ethical life as I can, according to what I can see and determine.

Is God so petty that he would condemn me to eternal torture for doing this? If yes, is a god like that worthy of worship?

If that were true, then you can't exactly 'find out' that there wasn't a God, because when you die, that's supposedly all that happens. You couldn't, because you'd be dead. :(

Just some simple logic..

Oh, and I'd definately choose the second option, no doubt about that!

If I died and found there was no God it would be a matter of indifference. There would only be oblivion.

If I lived my life as though thee was no God I would be in for a terrible shock

Other way round. I'd rather live my life as if there were no God and find that there is. I can soon explain to him that it wasn't my fault I didn't believe, I'll just say I had 'lack of evidence'.

If he sends me to Hell, then it confirms what a nasty egotistical, bloodthirsty piece of work he is.

Which is why, of course, I don't believe.

Explain how you 'die and find there isn't'? It's a sad irony that none of the sheeple ever get to see how they've wasted their lives on a fantasy.
