I have a puppy and the apartment complex i live in is pissed off, so they are going to come and check the floors for any stains. You cant see any, but he has peed a couple times. Now inspectors are going to come in and use a black light to find any of the stains. If they find any I could be evicted. How do I get rid of them so the black light cant detect it? PLZ HELP!!

You need to get a blacklight yourself (you can usually rent them from a pet store, or buy a cheap one at walmart) and go over the rug first to find any stains. Then you need to use a pet stain/odor remover that is enzyme based. That is the only kind of cleaner that will reliably remove that kind of stain. Nature's Miracle is one brand, but if you go to the pet store and ask for an enzyme-based cleaner they should be able to help you. Be sure to check the label to make sure that there are no added perfumes or anything like that.

Thoroughly soak any areas that show up with your blacklight. Leave it sit for as long as it says on the label, or half an hour if it doesn't say. Then soak up all the liquid with a towel or paper towels. Dry the area thoroughly and then check it with the blacklight. You may have to repeat more than once to get an old stain out.

Always be sure to soak the area thoroughly, no matter what it says on the bottle. If the liquid does not reach the underpadding of the carpet, the stain will remain and perhaps encourage the puppy to use the same spot again.

AVOID as much as you can using any other kind of cleaners on the area beforehand - vinegar, diluted bleach, and non-enzyme based pet stain cleaners may actually set the stain.

If all else fails, you can always spill wine or juice on the stained areas to disguise their true nature :P

Be sure to check your local by-laws to make sure that they really do have the right to evict you if any stains show up. Your local landlord-tenant agency may be able to help you.

Sounds like they are being a little harsh. If you can't see the stains, then why get out a black light? They may find other stains too that were there before you. You could always rent a carpet cleaner. You can buy a black light bulb at the store and put it in your lamp and check it over before they come. Because maybe there are other stains too! Good luck!

Being a landlord who will take away a security deposit should a tenant's animal urinate on the new carpet I install for each resident, I know of one thing that beats my blacklight. Nature's Miracle. You can get it at pet stores, Foster's Smith catalog or website and some discounters. Works every time if you saturate the spots down to the padding and extract the urine & solution out with a wet/dry vac or hopping on a terry towel. The Nature's Miracle has natural enzymes that neutralize the acid in urine which shows up under black light.

Sounds to me like you ignored their rules and got a dog when you weren't supposed to. I hope you find a good home for your dog or an apartment that actually allows dogs. I don't think you can distinguish the difference between different types of stain under a black light so just say it's a **** stain or a blood stain.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU8RE

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Why are they doing this? Were you not supposed to have a dog and they found out you did? I've never heard of an apartment complex doing such a thing. They should know that if they allow pets, that pets will sometimes have accidents on the floor.

Would they evict you for spilling red wine on the carpet? I doubt it, you'd just lose your deposit when you move out. Unless your contract says that you are not allowed to have pets, having them come in to inspect your room is an invasion of privacy which they have no right to do. You may be renting an apartment but you have rights, so don't let them abuse you.

It's an entirely different story if you are living in a building that does not allow pets.

the vet i used to work for sold something specifically for either dog or cat urine that came with a black light to find hidden stains. i would assume it would clean urine stains so that they would not be able to show up under a black light afterward. i can't remember the name but if you do a search online for urine cleansers and black lights you may find it. maybe urine cleanse?

second ploy - most dry laundry deturgent glows under a black light- sprionkle the entire carpet then vaccum up. If you point that out as "but I was just claening" - it might work
