Why would you even consider bringing an aggressive dog into that type of environment?
She hates muzzles? Of course, all dog's do. It's up to us, being there owners to decide what is right for them. And for her, the right thing is a muzzle when around other dogs or people.
Don't let her boss you around, show her who is boss and make her wear that muzzle.

If she is very aggressive then you need to put a muzzle on whether or not she likes it. You need to work with her and show her you are her master and she needs to listen to you. By allowing this to go on you are saying this behavior is ok. I would recommend taking a walk around your housing area where there are people. Have a neighbor walk by with your (dog on leash) you holding the leash and try to correct if she shows aggressive by raising your voice or swat her on the rear. I know some will say that is bad but you are going to hit her hard (just hard enought to know she did something wrong). It does not matter the age of the dog they aim to please you my dog is 11 years old and taught him this last year.
This worked for my dog who did not like anyone coming in his front yard when I was home. One major thing to remember is reward for the behavior you want praise works or treats. You need to tell her the job she did for ex: Good come Molly or Good quiet Molly and praise clap your hands make a big deal of the good behavior. Clapping works too. Try an easy activity to see which praise works best for your dog. Try throwing her favorite toy and tell her to bring and drop it clap and act happy pet her tell good bring and drop. Good Luck!

You do not have enough time to retrain a 9 yr. old dog for this activity. If there is even a chance for a problem then you do not have the right to risk anyone's safety. You might still be able to volunteer to help with the walk in some way. That would be great. Do not put yourself or dog in a situation that is not a "happy" event for both. At 9 yrs old she is set in her ways and if you haven't worked with her on this problem it is too late at this time to do so in time for dog walk.
Now, perhaps you can get more info about training her from folks at this dogwalk. Maybe by next year's event ............

I'm sure not every single person is bringing their dogs. They have those walks in my area, and while people are welcome to bring their dogs, it's not mandatory. You can still help out the shelter by showing up solo or maybe with a two legged friend.
If you are scared, I wouldn't take your dog. One of my dogs would never function in a situation like that...it is too overwhelming for you and can be stressful on your dog.

I don't think dog lovers would like to see a dog with a muzzle there anyway.
Would you consider borrowing a stroller? If Molly is a small dog, she might be able to sit in a [baby]stroller.
Just a thought.
Best wishes!!!

The logical thing to do is not take her out in public and expose the public to possible injury from your untrained dog. Do you want someone to sue you????? All it would take is for her to bite a human or attack another dog and you will be very, very liable for the damages. Leave Molly at home.

If you dog is aggressive towards people or other dogs- it does not need to attend the Paws Walk. If she bites someone then you can bet you'll be facing a lawsuit and she may have to be put to sleep.
You need to take her to obedience classes or get a private trainer for her.

I wouldn't chance it. I would love for my chow to go to things like this but he is terrible on a leash and it would only be a fiasco. The dogs that get to go to these events are very passive and can go anywhere with the least bit of effort on the part of the owner.

It is supposed to be a FUN experience for dogs and their owners to raise money for the shelter. If your dog is aggressive, do not bring her. It is dangerous and will ruin the experience for everyone. Walk a shelter dog instead.

I would suggest you just leave Molly at home this time. It sounds as if you bring her, you will not have a very good day. Leave her at home and go do the walk by yourself and then just bring a little treat home for Molly.
