Since you admit there are advantages to eating meats and other "non-veg" foods, what is the problem? Why not allow them to consume all foods that are beneficial? I was a pure vegetarian for over a year and was ill the whole time until I returned to eating meat. Some people are omnivorous, let them decide which is better for themselves.

If you have been a vegetarian for 75 years that means your grandkids are no doubt grown up by now. Why don't you just give them the information and let them make up their own minds. That is what being an adult is all about.

I think you're on the right track. Maybe your grand kids are still quite young so they need meat proteins to grow up properly. After growing up they'll be able to follow a full vegetarian diet.
