I just got a camera off e-bay, and I'm thinking I may not have made the best choice, but I'm going to give it a chance first. I know this camera is supposed to be difficult to learn how to use, and I am a beginner, so I was wondering if anyone has used this camera and what they think of it. I am interested in really getting into photography and this is my first digital camera so any help would be great. Let me know if you have used it, if you liked it, and if it is a decent camera to start with. Once I can afford it I will get a better one.

I have a Minolta Dimage 7i which I purchased when it was first released. Although I've subsequently brought a DSLR, I've kept the Minolta as I think it has a cracking lens - and unlike many 'bridge cameras' (as they were called at the time) that lens has a wide end equivalent of 28mm. It is a little difficult to use (particularly for a novice) as it does depend on knobs on the body in addition to menu based functions, and they aren't always clearly labelled. So you have to read the handbook/study the CD to get the best from it. Of course, it doesn't have the pixel count of the most modern cameras - but then, the pictures it takes don't take up as much room on your computer! You can contact me direct if there is anything else you are not clear about.

My first camera purchase was the dimage 7 hi...i loved the camera ...except it has rechargable batteries not lithium..sooo..you are always recharging the batteries..the more you review photos taken ,the more your batteries get eaten up.I would suggest finding a camera with a lithium battery.Other than that Io did enjoy the camera.

If you can let us know what the specific problems are, we could probably give more info.
