Give your local hospital a call and ask to speak to a social worker.
They know the local facilities which may have an appropriate program for you..

When I was 15 almost 16 my mom put me in rehab because she found some stuff in my room. she found some realy bad drug. i dont know it is that he is smoking but if it is just cigs they wont take hime in a rehab but if it is drug they will try to help him. They helped me I have been clean for 9 years now. Your son has to want the help if not it wont work and you will be waisting everyone's time. Look in a phone book and find a rehab and give them a call if they can't help you they be able to tell you of someone who can. Good Luck to you an you son

It is good to take the initiative to put your son's life back on track, but where were you when he began smoking? Do you buy cigarettes for him, or does he buy his own? Rehab is not the place for a 16 year old, anyway. If you want your son to quit smoking whip his *** back into shape, and don't let him buy cigarettes anymore (or don't buy them for him.) When he gets upset just tell him that its tough, he was the one he decided to smoke. It is also probably necessary for him to see a physician just to check him out, make sure nothing is wrong. Start being a parent for god's sake! (The other alternative is complete failure at parenting, and sending him to military school.)

Cigarettes???

I'll rehab him-smack his face everytime he puts one in his mouth.

Kidding. Sort of. When does he have the time to be out smoking? Is he doing this after school? I'd get him involved in things that take up his time. Time is a very dangerous thing in the hands of a 16 year old.

You could always tell him about my dad. Awesome guy. Quit smoking in his 40's but died of emphysema in his 60's anyway.

If you meant pot, well, you still need to find a way to take this free time away from the boy. He doesn't need rehab, he needs discipline and hobbies.

Good luck-
DN

dude, if you're gonna make up stories, put your profile on private. first you have a girlfriend, then you have a boyfriend? a 20 yo son, and now a 16 yo son. i don't buy it.

Why don't you try being a parent?

Maybe if you had been a good mother he wouldn't be a pot smoking loser.
