I just got offered a sales rep job from Vector Marketing and I have an interview coming up. I was wondering if anyone had any advice about getting a job with this company because there seems to be some skepticism on some websites I found, and I would hate to be another college student getting sucked into a scam.

I have friends that have done it. It takes some dedication on your part. You have to find your clients, be a good salesman(or a decent one at least).

The downside is, you have to pay for your set of knives you use while selling(a couple hundred bucks I think.)

If you do take the job, talk to your parents, friends of your parents, your friends parents for your first sales. All are good initial prospects because you already have a relationship with them. Then ask them to refer you to people they know for your future sales. It's all about networking and being a people person.

The worst part would be if you did it door to door, a lot of rejections are abound, but if you're dedicated you can make it work.

It's not a scam, but it's not a get rich quick scheme either.

I almost took the job but I didn't want to fork up the cash for my set of knives, and I also didn't know too many people in my area so I would have had to resort to the door to door.

My neice worked for them selling knives. She did not like selling knives. Not suppose to sell to your family. The knives are professional knives, not ordinary kitchen knifes for home use. They cost hundreds of dollars each! You wil need to already know every professional chef and rich person that has a personal chef to make any money.
