Ditto on the C.S. Lewis books. I also highly recommend Practicing His Presence by Brother Lawrence and Frank Laubach. I have benefited a lot from the writings of Watchman Nee. His teachings sometimes get deep, so be prepared to take some serious time studying if you read his books. I read Amazing Grace (Metaxas) last Spring, and I highly recommend it, too.

I guess it depends what you are looking for. Can't go wrong with Piper, McArthur, Pink, etc.. If you want some good theology and apologetics, check out these books by James R. White:

Another guy who is off the beaten path is Jim McClarty, you can access his books here:

Mere Christianity, by C.S. Lewis (a very enjoyable book from one of the most intelligent men of his age)

The Great Divorce, by C.S. Lewis (also terribly enjoyable).

Actually... anything by C.S. Lewis.

The God Gene is also rather good

The Gift of Pain

I do not think christians are allowed to read anything except the bible. Of course, there are some 60 different versions of that. That should keep you going for a while.

"Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis
"The Screwtape Letters" also by C.S. Lewis

Frank Peretti does a great job with his allegorical books as well.

Don't Waste your life by John Piper. I am a big fan of Piper's works in general.
