I would paint the walls a slighty darker shade of taupe and the accent wall a deep barn red (not bright red, not burgandy)

Grey with a hint of blue to it. How dark depends on your lighting and room size. If large and well lit I would use several shades darker than the taupe so the taupe looks light and provides contrast. Soft white for trim.
Avoid all browns and yellows because the taupe will not look good with them

Try a tone of taupe in a slightly deeper shade than the rug and chair, or match the darker of the two, use that for most walls. The accent wall, a pale shade of the blue. Start with a matching navy paint sample, then look for one of the lightest shades of that blue and use that for the accent wall. Sage and celery greens would work well with your blue and taupe and bring a fresh feel to the room in small accents. Water, grass, sky, earth. You may like wrought iron accents...or go contemporary and try brushed steel/ silver accents in lighting, frames, candlesticks, etc.

1] paint three walls a light bright blue, or acremy ivory. Paint accentwall either melon [ cantalope ] with blue walls; or blue/aqua with ivory walls.
2] add drapes color of walls, furniture, floor, or print of all colors.
3] get throw pillows in blues, ivories, and melon.
4] frame all art in similar color and material - brass/chrome, oak/walnut, colored enamel.
5] use same metal throughout room
6] add small accessories [ lamps, vase/flowerpots, ornaments, candles and holders ] in blues, creams, melon, and the metal.
7] add a flowering plant or tree.

I would use "ivoire" by Sherwin Williams as your primary color to brighten things up, and then paint the accent wall "decorous amber."
