YES IT WILL GO AWAY. However if it has Just happened take care in removing the sting. If it was a wasp sting there will be no "stinger" left in as that is not the way they work. HOWEVER if it WAS a bee the stinger and a little sack tend to remain in the skin. If it is still there do not try and grasp it to pull it out as you will only end up squeezing the little sack and therefore squeezing more poison into the skin. Draw your finger nail across the skin and scrape the sting out as you pass it.
All the other advice is quite good. ie ICE will reduce swelling and ease the irritation etc. 'Anthisan' cream is good. Make sure it doesn't get infected though and keep an eye on your neighbouring joints just in case it affects them. But don't worry the vast vast vast majority of folk are minimally affected.

Normal symptoms are pain, redness, and swelling around the site. Best cure for a bee sting is plain household ammonia. Stinks but takes the pain away. I got stung on the end of my middle finger and I soaked it in it. Pain went away and the swelling never got bad. Finger was numb that day too, but better the next day. Another thing that works...go swimming in a pool treated with chlorine. I got stung about 30 times when I was little, my older sister took me to the local pool. I was fine afterwards. I would think that if you were allergic you would be in serious trouble by now. My dad is, and if he gets stung he has to have his meds fast or it's a race to the ER.

It will just go away, if you were allergic you wouldn't be on your computer giving us this little story of how you got stung by a bee. You will be fine in a couple of days.

1] scrape the stinger out with the side of a credit card [ grabbing with tweezers just squeezes more venom in ]
2] wash well with soap and water
3] wet a bandaid bandage, apply a dab of meat tenderizer to it, and tape over sting - breaks down proteins in venom
4] ice pack if still hurting
5] take a motrin or aspirin
6] watch for: [ go to doctor if occurs ]
increased redness
increased swelling
rash/hives
difficulty breathing, or shortness of breath

Yeah pain will go away in a day and might itch a little after that. It'll leave a bump that will fade over the next 3-4 days.

If you haven't done so yet, you should make a paste out of baking soda and water, just mix a little of each together and put that on the sting. It should not hurt so bad and draw out the stinger.

It will probably swell a bit and be sore but then after a while it will begin to itch. The itch is the worst part. It will eventually get better after a few days.
