John 6:32 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

--- You have to look at the verses before and after to get the true meaning...

The Jews come to Jesus and request a miracle, (What did they call the feeding of the multitude?), and they remind Jesus of the Old Testament miracle of the Manna. They tell Jesus that Moses gave the children of Israel Manna, and they want to know what He is going to do. Christ's response is to remind them that Moses was not responsible for the Manna, but that it was the provision of God. He goes on to tell them that the true bread from Heaven is a person. In fact, it is Jesus himself who is the Bread of Life, v. 33.

He is just saying all that Moses preached before he died came from God the father in heaven, the words Moses preached God told him to say. Moses was not around when Jesus was sent down,He was already dead. Jesus new Moses because he was w/ God from the beginning, I'm sure he was trying to see if anyone picked up on that back in the day. You will know the answer when you here it because God makes sure you will have peace about it. You won't have any questions or doubts in your mind. Goodluck!!!

Moses was not in heaven when he was preaching he was on earth.

Moses fed the people with physical bread, to feed and fulfill the flesh! Jesus IS the bread of life, who was sent from Heaven and gave HIS life (HIS body, the BREAD) as a sacrifice to feed our eternal souls, our Spirits! Isn't HE wonderful?! Hallelujah!

As I understand it, many Jews were treating Moses as a god, and Abraham as well.

Moses didn't give them anything, God gave them everything.

And then in the next verse, Jesus talked about himself yet again as being the one to bring life to the world.

He called himself the 'true' bread from heaven.

Jesus knew he had to give something. Moses beat him to it so Jesus said it was really from him. Jesus knew this would upset Moses so Jesus knew he would have to make it right. He couldn't so Jesus made up FAITH and Moses bought into it so now Jesus didn't have to give anything to Moses.

Jesus is the true "bread" or gives to us eternal life. Jesus give us the opportunity to truly live, not just live from day to day in a mortal world, but to live a spiritual life. A life full of the grace of God, a life where we are one with Him.

The manna that God provided in the wilderness as a type of Christ as the real bread out of Heaven. Through His Incarnation Jesus Christ came to earth to be our supply and our real food. Bread is not for doctrine but for eating, for growth and nourishment to go on. Day by day we each face our wilderness but we need to be those coming to the Lord Jesus as the Bread of Life to be cared for inwardly by Him. I was helped to learn that it is by feeding in the Word by reading that we eat of the Lord as the Bread of Life. His words to us are Spirit and Life. We partake of Him as the heavenly bread by enjoying the riches in the Word. Not only so, but we drink of Him as the Living Water by prayer.

The Bread that Moses gave was not from Moses but from God. He was the provider day by day to the children of Israel. But like the Children of Israel we too need to " gather" the manna through our coming to the Word of God each day.

May we all journey in a strong way. Taking the rich supply available to us through Christ as the Living Word.
