Hi....Since you are a non-believer then please don't think I'm being rude because it's not my intention. I have respect for others beliefs. Let's say for now that God created All Living things. With this in mind, God created man with two arms, two legs, two eye's and so forth. When one loses one of these functions,. it doesn't grow back. We are blessed with what we were born with. If we abuse it or accidentally lose it then it's gone forever. We can't ever get it back. This is why we should be grateful for what we have and don't dwell on the things that we don't have. Some individuals are born without limbs, which is sad but they learn to adjust. Some miracles do exist but unfortunately regaining ones limb isn't one of them. A tree or a plant can regain it's limb or stem but a human cannot. Would be nice though. Have a great day!

Well, late response:
I just had an interesting idea I think came from God. Even though amputees don't have all their limbs, they still have a body that will live. These cancers and sicknesses can make us die, but missing a leg doesn't make us die. To as for a new leg is like asking for a new gift. However, we, including amputees, already have so many other gifts to be happy for - especially since a missing limb won't kill us like cancer/sicknesses/infections can. Even though we don't have the same gift everyone else has, we still have other gifts such as being able to reason mentally, breath, live, and a chance to come to God to experience eternal salvation, persecution, and even more gifts from God. However, I am a young christian, so I am still learning and therefore do not have fully mature ideas. Thank you.
No, no one is ignored by God. He hears all prayers but doesn't always say yes. You surely don't know another person's ever-changing will, so it is impossible to know God's will, even as it is steady and unchanging. However, God's will is only good.

God has granted doctors with wisdom, intelligence and abilities, to help mankind. There are many doctors that are Christians and pray before they do surgeries. I have been in the room with one that did this. The medical field has come a long way in curing many diseases. We cannot second guess God, as He is in control and there is a purpose for everything.
There a lot of diseases, and tumors that have not disappeared as well. Medical Science has come so far in finding cures, and vaccines for so much. There are still many deadly diseases and cancers out there to be dealt with. Sometimes in life, it may not seem fair to some, but God uses us in ways we may not always understand. I had a family member that had his leg amputated, and instead of growing angry, and bitter, he took his disability and it became a testament to his faith, trust and love in the Lord. He works very hard, harder than some with both legs. There is nothing any more convincing than a disabled person that can be a living testament to the Lord God.

Are you an amputee? How do you know they want them to grow back? Maybe it is attitudes like this that cause them to suffer more because you dwell on it, not them!
Maybe the fact that they are amputee's has caused an even greater thing in their life, for the good.
I have a friend who is, and she found god because of it. Her story is a miracles in itself!!
She lost her legs via a train and suicide attempt. She was more unhappy before she lost her legs! An Angel did apear to her and covered her pain at the site of the accident. it was at this time that she met God, and she loves the Lord dearly!! Amen!
Quit making it worse for them by siting your uneducated assumptions! You do more damage than the actual physical situation does. By your post, you mock, as if they are no longer useful humans who contribute. Got news for you, they are very useful and wrthful. More so than some with their limbs!
If by chance you are an amputee or know someone who is, I would suggest you look to God for comfort and look for the good that did occur that you may be blind to.
By the way, healing miracles come by faith in Jesus Christ, true faith.

this is so simple and obvious, I have never understood why its so hard for people to get.
sometimes things are meant to be and must be a certain way. even if its such that it seems wholely negative from our perspective.
even if something seems, from our view, to have no redeeming value, no purpose, no benefit, sometimes it does, even though we can't see it in a concious way.
if someone who lost(or never had) a limb, was not supposed to be without it, for whatever reason, ... wouldn't it be easier to come to that state, without losing it and having a "naturally impossible" recovery? like say, being an inch further "that way" from a bullet or explosion or shrapnel or whatever, such that it would not be an amputating injury? or manipulate one of the million variables between before the causing event and the ocurrence becoming irretreivable?
look at all the near-misses, the "if that had been half an inch further over..." type injurys or occurances or whatever. what makes you so sure those were people that would have had an amputation in the future, but it was "nudged" to NOT occur since there wasn't a need to?

This question touches the core of my heart as my Dad was an amputee!
I do not know why God allows some things and not others. I do know this, even if you are an amputee, you still have your life! In many cases, the miracles have been for saving life. Not in all, but, many!
You have a good point but, one I cannot answer.

Well, there are differences of opinion on this. Some say their are no more miracles. (J. vernon McGee) ttb.org. and some say they happen every day. The 700 club cbn.org. I am sure that amputees are not ignored by god. Jesus healed a man with a shrivelled hand. I think he was a bible days amputee. Why miracles do happen or don't happen is not something that anyone is certain about. I am badly crippled myself. Jesus loves amputees and disabled people.

Why do people presume to know who God ignores? God ignores no man or woman who comes to Him. No one. God is constantly moving to reach every human being on earth, amputee or not, atheist or not, God does not ignore us.

John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
I am not trying to confuse you and I take no offence to your question. But the reason that many people fail to understand God is because that do not think in "heavenly" terms. Or in the Spiritual as God would have us to think. God is so big that we fail to comprehend what He really is. Not just you but even the most Spiritual Christians can't begin to grasp God.That is one of the reason's for so many denominations.
Please bear in mind that I believe that if God choose to grow some one a leg/arm it would be.But let me take you to a greater more abundant miracle, this happened to me.
I was blind, all that I ever seen was only what I wanted to see.
I couldn't walk, I stumbled and fail at every obstacle.
My arms and hands were useless, they broke everything they touched.
My ears were useless, I only heard what I wanted to hear.
But now I can see things that I never seen before and it feels so good.
I can walk and run as never ever thought possible,I amaze myself at time the obstacles that I get over.
My arms and hands fix things now, I used them the other day to help a neighbor that I meet soon after I came to know Jesus. It was about time we had lived beside one another for years.
I can hear now, I hear the cry of souls like yours. Who would like to be healed as I was healed by Him.Won't you please come and be healed as well.He loves you so very much and wants to help you.Your in my prayers, and because of Him I love you.

They are not ignored by God; it is just that it needs more faith for that to happened. And it has happened in certain cases.
Maybe if you convert to Christianity and have great faith, you will pray for amputees and they will be healed.
On the other hand, God is the one who decides who to heal. He knows what is best! There are amputees who are very happy; and there are healthy people (a lot of them!) who are really miserable; so, what is best? To have the peace of God, of course, in spite of circumstances.
