Because I have studied it for ten years, Diane. I have seen it proven true all around me in those ten years. I have seen the transforming power of Jesus Christ, and the word of God, in my life.

I believe, because of the Holy Ghost. Jesus revealed what the Father ordained confirmed in daily meditation by the Holy Ghost. If the Word is incorrect, all bets are off. But how are you convinced that praying to a willow tree brings wealth? Perhaps, all faiths have their peculiarities. It still boils down to many wrongs don't make a single right. There can be one truth only or none.

Because I have found it worked with God's Spirit.

If you had the spiritual experience that I had, you wouldn't have to ask. I hope that you can get that experience.

Without the Spirit of God involved with what you read in the Bible, you will not have the ability to know the value of what is written. You won't have your spiritual eyes and mind open in order to receive what is being read.

Jesus went into that commonly in the Gospels. He referred to some as 'blind' and 'deaf' who had eyes that worked fine, and they could respond to what he said but could not accept or understand what he was saying. He called them blind, and sometimes he called them deaf. He would also call them 'dead', when they were still walking around.

So it is a spiritual opening of the eyes and ears that Jesus talked about, for those who's eyes can see, and with ears that hear. That's what I got, and I'm not letting it go! lol

But it's because I have God's Spirit that I believe that the Bible is the word of God.

Simply because all scripture in the Bible corresponds with all that is happening in this world today! God knows and sees all even before it happens! I also have abundant faith in the word of God, and He loves us all so much and that is why He gave us the Bible to give us councel and instruction so we know what He expects from us, and we can abide by His laws and live a life full of joy and abide in peace.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (New International Version)
16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 (New International Version)
13And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.

Therefore we as christians use this as proof for the bible being the word of God

here we go again...Jesus is the Word Of God, the bible says so...the bible is the "written..." the "letter" there is a diff. between "Remah and Logos" the bible is "not" the Bread of Life" Jesus is...the bible is a "book" that contains the "scriptures" but they are not Living" this is why Jesus said, the letter kills, but the Spirit gives Life...lol....

from the Catechism Of The Catholic Church:

CCC 105 - God is the author of Sacred Scripture. "The divinely revealed realities, which are contained and presented in the text of Sacred Scripture, have been written down under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit."

"For Holy Mother Church, relying on the faith of the apostolic age, accepts as sacred and canonical the books of the Old and the New Testaments, whole and entire, with all their parts, on the grounds that, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, they have God as their author and have been handed on as such to the Church herself."70

CCC 106 - God inspired the human authors of the sacred books. "To compose the sacred books, God chose certain men who, all the while he employed them in this task, made full use of their own faculties and powers so that, though he acted in them and by them, it was as true authors that they consigned to writing whatever he wanted written, and no more."

CCC 107 - The inspired books teach the truth. "Since therefore all that the inspired authors or sacred writers affirm should be regarded as affirmed by the Holy Spirit, we must acknowledge that the books of Scripture firmly, faithfully, and without error teach that truth which God, for the sake of our salvation, wished to see confided to the Sacred Scriptures."

I don't. In fact, most Christians do not believe that. It is a popular misconception, because some 55% of Americans believe it. But only some 10% of Christians believe it.
