You must sacrifice in obedience and worship, not just
to get something you want and not in pride so you can say,
for example, "see how I sacrificed, aren't I good?"
Jesus says, for example, if you fast and pray, that you
should "wash your face" and not let everyone know what
you are doing (to not be prideful and say "look at me, I'm
fasting! that makes me good, doesn't it?) - then you will
not lose your reward for fasting and praying.
The attitude makes all the difference!
Have a great day!

God said He desired obedience over sacrifice.
When King Saul was ready to go to battle against the enemy, Samuel the prophet told Saul to wait till he could get there in order to sacrifice to the LORD, but Saul got ahead of Samuel and didn't wait.
When Samuel got there, he pointed out, "Does God take so much delight in burnt offerings as He does in obedience? Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idol worship (idolatry)." It shoes that ALL disobedience is the results of rebellion against God's authority, and the same as high treason against God, in our attempt to usurp God's rightful place on the throne of our hearts.
That is, in fact, why ALL sin must be punished by death - high treason is ALWAYS punishable by death in ANY culture or government.
But I digress.
No. Sacrifice does NOT bring about obedience.
However, SOME times obedience requires sacrifice.

Obedience is better than sacrifice.
1 Samuel 15:22
And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
