This is actually an implantation device. Many people have had this type of surgery for serious conditions. I do not know how widely spread it is for corrective surgery.

I think you may not get many people answering who have had it as Lasik or one of the other laser options works for most of us. I had the traditional Lasik and am happy with it so far.

However, the interocular implants have been in use for a long time and are safely done. The price is very high. I paid $3000 for both eyes for traditional Lasik (In Alaska where the medical costs are a little higher usually).

Phakic IOL's are a great idea. The complication is that you might cause the lens (your lens not the implant lens) to get foggy or opaque. Then you'll have to have a second procedure to remove the implant, do the cataract removal and put a new implant where the old lens was. That's simple cataract surgery.

If you are THINKING of having surgery, intraocular surgery, you might consider that the fewest times you go to surgery being 'better'.

Why not just get the surgery for cataracts (no you don't need to have a foggy lens to get it removed and replaced by a stronger lens) and be done with it? This way you only have your eyes instrumented or invaded or cut or ? ONCE. And that's a lot safer way to go.

And you don't insult the cornea doing this. And with hyperopes it's not a good idea to mess with the cornea.

you fairly ought to get it completed. you would be waiting to work out greater advantageous at ineffective night and lighting fixtures fixtures won't look so bright and colours would be greater bright lower back. and you will no longer experience such as you're looking by using a haze for all time. plus you maximum probable would be waiting to do away with your glasses. the surgical treatment is extremely undemanding and does not carry plenty probability. and it particularly is an quite minor surgical treatment. (i'm 23yrs old and that i've got have substantial eye circumstances my entire existence which comprise 4 retinal detachments and my dr nevertheless chanced on it particularly risk-free to do away with my cataract and implant a clean lens. and my eye is totally sturdy.) different than being slightly blurry from the dilating eye drops you would be waiting to work out tremendously plenty conventional as quickly because of the fact the surgical treatment is accomplished. and there's a restoration time of basically some days. you will might desire to ward off lifting heavy gadgets, putting your head totally under water (like swimming), and donning a watch guard at nighttime so as which you do no longer by probability bump your eye. you will might desire to take eye drops distinctive situations consistent with day for some weeks yet different than which you're on the instant lower back on your old recurring. you are able to pass out and do all your nicely-known each and on a daily basis activities for the main section. my well being care expert even stated it grew to become into positive to pass on curler coasters a similar day because of the fact the surgical treatment. (i did no longer get to an leisure park till 3 weeks after my surgical treatment although LOL)
