The Christian liberals will say its allegorical, in which case I would say "how do you know which parts of the bible are true and which part allegri"?

The Fundies will say its 100% true, evolution is wrong, the universe is only 8,000 years old etc, in which case I would say "You quite clearly are a nutjob"

Yes I do believe in the Adam and Eve truth, and so too it appears does the writer (the apostle Paul) of the Romans epistle:

Romans ch5 v12
Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

v14
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses---

and again in 1 Corinthians ch15 v45
And so it is written , The first man Adam was made a living soul, the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

v47
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

The bible is the source of fact no longer allegory. The bible tells us the actual shop of Adam and Eve. If we expect of roughly what occurred there, the sin, the shortcoming of God's prefer, the shortcoming of eternal existence, and the sin the replaced into exceeded directly to each and each human beings through inheritance of our mothers and fathers. We lost lots yet Jesus replaced into sent to purchase all that back for us with the sacrifice of his human existence. all of us understand that occurred through fact historic past says so. If the story of Adam replaced into no longer actual then WHY did Jesus come and end his existence? you are able to no longer have one without the different.

Its written in a simplistic way for the masses to understand. Lets not forget that alot of the Old Testament stories are mans interpretation of Gods word. The bible can be very misleading if you take every word as Gospel (so to speak).

Just to clarify, I LOVE Jesus! And yes, I DO believe that the story of Adam and Eve is true. There is so much evil and sin in the world, i.e., murder, rape, theft, etc., that it's impossible for me to believe that the event never occurred.

12Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—
~Romans 5:12 (New International Version)~

I don't deserve to live because of all the sins I've committed over the course of my life. However, God's amazing grace and mercy has given me salvation through the sacrifice of His son.

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
~John 3:16 (New International Version)~

8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.
~Ephesians 2:8-9 (New International Version)~

I believe the truths behind the story. As to whether "Adam" and "Eve" ever really walked the earth, why does it matter?

I rejoice in having Jesus in my daily life.

Do I honestly believe the creation story word-for-word as in the Bible? No. Obviously, it would have had to have been handed down from many generations IF it was literally true.

Jesus did. Excuse me, Jesus does.

Have you read the Bible by chance?

Anyway, Jesus speaks of the creation account.

Mar 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

Mar 13:19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

What's good enough for Jesus, is good enough for me.

What we have to understand is that the real creation story came from the Native American Indians. But you must realize that their stories are merely metaphor, not meant to be literal. All that stuff about adam and eve, talking snakes, magic trees... come on people get a clue.

I do for the most part, but there was more going on that a lot of people do not realize and overlook. I believe that Cain, Abel's twin, was not Adam's son, but Satan's conceived in the garden with Eve when sin originated. Even God said to Cain, "You are of your father, the devil." That is biblical if one wishes to study deeper into The Word. Twins can be conceived by two different fathers which can be proved by genetics.

Fine young man, you ask if I believe a god created a grown male of our species from a handful of dirt, and then a grown female from one of the dirt-man's ribs, and that a snake talked? You ask this in the 21st century? I've tried to pull up from my innards the strength to 'believe' it but almost at once I start laughing. I'm a failure in the world of weird beliefs, I'm afraid. But I promise I'll keep on trying.
