I cancelled my car purchase last week after putting a £200 deposit down. I spoke to the dealer today for the first time and i have now been talked into going to look at a cheaper one on saturday. I really am so stressed out by all this i just want to tell them i do NOT want to buy a car right now anymore. If all i will loose is my deposit then i am willing to let this happen just to get out of it! Could someone tell me if i telll them they can keep my deposit and apologise for wasting their time will this really be the end of it. I really feel that because i'm a girl who doesnt know much about cars i'm being pushed and pushed into things!

i did in fact sign on wednesday and told them i wished to cancel thursday morning first thing. The small print says very little including nothing about a non refundable deposit but then again its like its written in some language i've never heard of!

Did you sign a contract? I'm guessing that you probably did if you put up a deposit. You would have to read the fine print in the contract to see if you can get out of it, and if so, if it will cost you. I've seen contracts that allow you to cancel if done within a certain time, something like 24 or 48 hours.

Hey dont' feel bad. They push everybody around if they can. Go back to the dealer and tell them that you have changed your mind and you don't want to purchase a car. Take someone else with you. Either your Father or an Uncle or even a neighbor that knows about car sales.

Most likely, you will be able to get out of it, if you haven't taken possession of the car yet.

You will lose either some or all of your deposit. Don't let them intimidate you. The salesman doesn't want to lose his commission and he/she will try anything they can to get you into a car.

Never buy a car on the first trip to the dealer, give yourself some time to think things over and don't buy on impulse. You will pay too much. Once you have decided on a car, then shop around and find the best price. Go from dealer to dealer and let them bid against each other. You can also compare prices on the internet and find the best price there.

good luck

you don't owe that clown any thing. you don't have to buy a car if you don't want to. i would be nice just to try and get my deposit back. don't you have any one who can go and talk to these people. i wish i was there i would explain i could not afford a car didn't want a car. i am a mental patient and didn't need a car. any thing to get out of it. don't sign any more papers. if they let you out of the first car you will have to sign for another one don't. in some states like mine mi you have three days to get out of a contract. tell them you made a mistake and don't want a car note right now. remember don't sign anything else. if they are a good dealer ship they should give you your deposit back. don't take position o f a car. good luck.
