Last week I got a court order, ordering the librarians in our small town to file the Book of Mormon under fiction.
Your thoughts?

EDIT ONE - on separation of church and state, a representative from the LDS argued this and the court agreed with me that to file it in Non-fiction would be the actual violation because it would implicitly endorse the book as being true

EDIT 2: I successfully argued that it couldn't be filed under "Reference" whose foundation is that the books therein are factual

EDIT 3: Kevin John:
The Dewey Decimal system has NEVER determined the constitutionality of anything, nor to my knowledge even been cited in an attempt to do so, "knucklehead."
Also, wtf, "predecent" does NOT need to be cited to get a result, particularly a constitutional result, or you'd still have racially segregated classrooms "knucklead" -- oh precedent on that? Brown vs. Board of Education, 1954. Now go suck a banana

Well, since it was translated with rocks in a hat, I might suggest filing it under "magic"

As long as we human beings on this planet believe in God, we will progress in His grace. When you run into foolishness, you don't argue with it. YOU have to file a grievance with state authorities, since the library is a part of the state. You should start with city hall and have them direct you to the appropriate place to go. I personally would never sit down and "weep" about something that I could change. Peace, Love and God Bless.

Technically it should be under religion whether or not it's fiction, espcially since religion is a sub-category of fiction. If you pace it in fiction someone may take it to be truth just like some took "The DaVinci Code" as truth or nearly so.

A court order? Uh, wouldn't that classify as going against church and state...come on, be a little more creative next time.

There should be another section, probably. "Specifically religious books section."
On the other hand, thats awesome the court decided that! What a stand to take, kinda ballsy and conservative for a court....

I think that it should be filed under Dewey Decimal 229, where it has always been filed, knucklehead.
You did not reference precedent in your legal case. No donut for you.

well when I went to the bookstore the Gospel of the FSM was filed under humor. Do you think I should sue for religious discrimination?

If you are for real, it sounds like a start.
All the holy books should be under mythology.
