Cats are cats. Often times, it's very hard to change the way they are. Most of the time, you just have to accept the cat the way she is.
I would suggest having some people come over that she doesn't know and teach her that new people are nice. Have them come quietly into the house and ignore her. If she approaches them, have them offer her her favorite type of treat.
My best advice other than that is to put her in a room by herself when company comes over. Maybe she'll eventually learn that they aren't there to hurt her and she can come out when people are over.
If all else fails, the best thing to do is smile, and accept the fact that you have a mean cat, a fact that I have had to accept before.

1st you need to be sure your guests are actually cat people. Some people just don't like cats and your cat will get that hint, making her nervous and can push her to retaliate. In this case it may be best just to put her in a part of the house that will not be used while your guests are visiting.
2nd if your guests are cat people and they indeed have cats of their own, then it may be that the cat does not like the smell of their cats on them and is fearfull make him hiss or hide.
The only things that will probably work is letting them use the plays feathers and anything long enough to play without her getting to close to the "humans". Also, a tidbit thrown in their direction and then coaxing the cat closer to give her more from their hands can get her used to their smell.
which again may be a problem with regards to maybe their perfum or other heigene smell that your cat may not like.

You have to let her be. You cannot force a cat to do anything. You can improve their behavior but you have to work with the cat. You have to think like a cat. You can call her vet for advice. They can be most helpful. You can google Dr. Jon's Pet Place. He is a vet that offers great advice for cats. I'm sure he has written an article on your cat's behavior.

Lots of cats are territorial. Thry to teach your guests to play ball with your cat. Cats always can smell the scent of a dog on a person. The cat tend to act crazy wen this happens.

When you say she is mean, what do you mean by that?
If you mean she is attacking your guests, you'll want to confine her while you have company. If she is simply running and hiding leave her alone: Some cats are afraid of strangers.

That's not mean, it's fear. She needs to be away from strangers to be comfortable. Being forced on them or having hands always reaching for her causes anxiety and fear and makes her try to defend herself.
Be considerate of her feelings, she's been showing you that it bothers her so much, yet people continue to push themselves on her.

Get a spray bottle.... fill it with water...set it to the hardest spray......... when she starts acting up .... ready/aim/fire
Sounds cruel, but it is the best way in the WORLD to train a cat.

There's nothing you can do besides keep her in a separate room when you have company.
