I have scanned some old photos and sent them on to relatives. Some are now asking if I can scan them again at a higher resolution. Only thing is, I do not see how the this can be varied. I have a Lexmark 5200 series all-in-one centre ((X5250) and I don't see any buttons for changing the resolution of scans. In fact I can't even find the resolution specifications of the scanner. I think I should stop with the details now as I'm beginning to sound like a prat.

When I refer to 'buttons' I am referring to the options presentyed by the Lexmark software. I honestly cannot see where the supplied software provides an opportunity to tweak the scanning resolutions.

You weren't sounding like a prat, I assure you.

I think you may need to scan using the software rather than using the "scan" button on the machine. If you find that, dig around in the settings. 600*600 dpi is quite hi-res, if you can find that.

Best of luck.

DO NOT use the scanner buttons, use the supplied software, or other photo editing software.

use the AQUIRE IUNAGE from TWAIN SCANNER option.
In the scanner driver settings, set to a MAX of 600DPI, because photos even today are only printed at abpout 300DPI, but the technology looks better at this than a 1200DPI inkjet
