dude, money or not, it's your health, if you're that concerned you'd go see a doctor...coming on here for a diagnosis is playing with fire.
it's better to get the money somehow for a 1st doctor's visit, you can most likely pay in payments for the rest.

The yellow green color to sputum indicates infection.... not cancer. The brownnish color could be older blood.... either caused by infection or irritation from a lot of coughing.
The pain on the side of your chest can also be caused by infection.
Fatigue can come on for lots of reasons.... but smokers are easily fatigued, depending on how long they have been smoking, and how often. People who smoke very much do tend to lose weight. If you think about it, your body is responding to the poison that you have been puttung into it.
Here's the problem, though.... there is no way that you can AVOID seeing a doctor. I can pretty much gaurantee that you do have a lung infection. If not treated, could easily turn into (and may already be) pneumonia..... and you could easily end up in the hospital with an even bigger bill to pay.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing all of these
symptoms. Honestly they don't sound good. Cigarette smoking is known to cause lung cancer and I have lost
family members to that disease. You need to see a Dr. ASAP! You have good reason to worry and I can't ease your
worries by giving you false hopes. The Dr is the one to do that. The first thing you need is an lung x-ray to see exactly
what is going on.
Now it could just be lung congestion, but do you want to take
a chance? The sooner you get the truth of the matter the better off you will be either way. Either you will begin to get the help that you need or you will learn that you will live to a ripe old age. That is what I wish for you. Find a way to go to the Dr. please. I wish you the best.

I am sorry but you do need to go get this checked out at a hospital they cannot turn you away for no insurance or ability to pay. you are having symptoms of cancer and i beg you to have it checked out before treatment isn't possible. my dad passed away with cancer in Dec. 1999. the green, yellow and brown sputum is not good signs. my dad hadn't smoked in over 25 years. and if this is cancer there is help and hope possible. my dad never had insurance either but medicaid will back up and pay 3 months hospital and doctors bills. (state insurance) thats what my dad had to get. with proper treatment and early diagnosis you can beat cancer they have alot of advancements in treatments all the time i want to give you a name and number to call in case you need it there is hope. the name is Cancer Treatment Centers of America and the number is:1-800-858-8530 also 1-800-273-5183 i do hope you heed my advice and get checked out. good luck and best wishes. I wish you the very best.

If you have recently given up smoking, the phlem you're coughing up is probably just your lungs clearing themselves out.
Over the years of you smoking, they would have filled up with black gunk and tar and because you've stopped the cause of this,it's probably starting to break up and come out of your body.
When you smoke, your lung size decreases,so now you've stopped smoking, you'll probably find you don't get out of breath so easily.
As for the pain, that just might be caused by all the phlem breaking up in your lungs and coming out. If you're coughing alot, you may have strained a muscle in your chest, which will heal naturally in a few days anyway.
You may suffer from other withdrawal symptoms. Apparently giving up smoking is harder than quitting heroin, because of the habit by association. The cravings take a long time to fade, and it helps alot to change your routine from your smoking days.
I think,as long as you're not suffereing from any severe chest pain, coughing up lots of blood (main lung cancer symptom)and bad breathlessness, then i doubt you have lung cancer.
As i said, the icky stuff you're coughing up is just your lungs clearing themselves out x

Most smokers get emphysema at some point even if they never get cancer. See here: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/smokerslung.htm
You need to stop smoking for good if you want to have the life that you planned with your fiance. A smoker's death is usually slow and painful too, don't do that to yourself!
