I am very proud of the fact that I am not weak minded and naive. Are you proud that you are a weak minded delusionist that tries to "convert" evil-dooers in your eyes?

I don't go around carrying a sign saying that I'm an Atheist . When the subject of religion comes up , I make no attempt to hide or deny my non-belief either .
Believing, or not believing does not call for pride . It's like saying , " Are you proud that you don't like oysters " ?
I make no attempt to get anyone to drop his religious beliefs, It's none of my business , except when an attempt is made to shove god down my throat .

I'm not proud nor is it a secret. I just am what I am. I don't walk up to the cashier at the grocery store and say "How much are the roma tomatoes and by the way I'm an Atheist." And no I don't try to convert anyone, whatever they wanna believe is their business just as my beliefs are my business.

Girl, are you ever naive! I'm deathly afraid of irrational fundamentalist Christians. While in High School (early 60's), I was beaten up four separate times by gangs of boys who thought it was their Christian duty to violently assault atheists. I've had a cross burned in my front yard. I've twice been fired from a good corporate job because, "The shareholders wouldn't like it if they found out we've got an atheist on the payroll." I clearly remember when M.M. O'Hair and her entire family were murdered by Christians. I've seen a Planned Parenthood Clinic, after it was bombed by Christian terrorists. I've read of several medical doctors having been assassinated by Christian snipers. I'm currently being shunned by my Christian neighbors because they found out, thanks to gossip, that I'm an atheist.

No, Sweetheart, I very seldom discuss religion with anyone outside of this forum, where I'm safe -- completely protected by my anonymity. I am proud to be an atheist and, living in America, I sensibly keep it a strict secret. I've never attempted to convert anyone.

~~~ moon ,,, Most Respectfully, for me personally Pride has nothing to do w/me since it was overcome at an early age from Meditation & Martial Arts Training w/my uncles. It's a part of the process of Ego Transcendance. But I am very secure in My Knowledge of Comparitive Religion & Mythology that ALL gods die, eventually. I never attempt to Convert but only Educate and allow the Individual to make their Own Conclusion. ~ Namaste`
Yes, No, waaaaaaait *falls into misty chasm*.....
Not sure if the term "Proud" is really applicable, but I guess it could be. I don't really care if people are converted, but I would like them to have made a rational choice as opposed to just believing because it sounds right - that sort of blind faith is scary. I also want religious people to be aware that enforcing their morality on the rest of us is not ok.
A) I am proud of it.
B) I don't announce it to everybody because some people react to atheists like they would react to lepers.
C) I have never tried to convert anybody. I will, however, engage in debate if someone asks.
I am proud to not fall for nonsense. I try to get people to think, same as I would if I encountered someone who thought 2 + 2= 5.
Proud. No, I dont attempt to convert. Thats not in my job description. I share what I know. That is all. If it leads to conversion, so be it.
I'm extremely proud of my atheism. And I never force my beliefs on others unless they come and try to convert me first. Then, I use what I know to shut them up. It always works and they can't argue with it because they know I'm right.
