no, you don't need to stay home. Just follow the directions you were given on when to stop eating solids, take the medicine you were given to help clean you out ( be prepared to need the bathroom, and put yourself in the vicinity after taking the meds) and relax. It's no big deal. A little embarrasing, yes, but the nurse/tech taking care of you will act very professional and help reduce any embarrasment you might have. I had to have the proceedure a couple of times a few years ago. My best advice? after the test, don't rush out of the office. Stick around near the bathroom for at least 20 minutes afterwords. Remember, what goes in, must come back out!! You don't wanna be caught half way home when it decides it's time to re appear!! LOL
Good luck

No, you don't have to stay home. You are going to have a drink called barium, which is yukky, chalky. Then you'll have the GI (x-rays), they you will get the enema (they'll give you a drink to help). That's it, don't worry, it's no big deal. Good luck!
