I mean.. how do we know that there isn't more, or how do we know that 2 of those thing really are there? It could be 3 things walking by 2 things, but the 2 things didn't see the third. Or how do they know they are real?

Do I need to pray to find out? Cause he still hasn't got back to me about this. I think he is lost...

It doesn't always equal 4. Sometimes 2 cats + 2 mice = 2 cats.

2+2 is 4 becuse otherwise you have different values for what is being added. 2 means you have one crayon, and another crayon. +2 means you are taking the same number of crayons and putting it with the crayons you have. so you have twice the crayons.

and you cant add 2 cats to 2 mice. You can only add things that are the same (which is why you cant add miles to Kilometers. or why you cant add the number of boys to the number of girls. The only way you can increase the number of girls is to add girls. You can add numbers of animals, and even in the cat example you'd still have carcass and bones. The mice didnt vanish they were eaten.

So you have 4 crayons. I use crayons becuse you should have learned this in kidnergarden. Things are real when they exist. when they are perceptible. religion is faith becuse it is something you belive is real. You belive that what you are seeing or the extra bit of luck that saved your neck is caused by something.

2+2 can equal any number. But the value of 2 plus the value of 2 can ONLY equal the value of 4.

If there are three, then it is not 2+2. Deception and misunderstandings are not part of mathmatics.

However, if you have a different base, then 2+2 does not equal 4. 2+2=10, or 2+2=11 are equally valid for differing base number systems.

It doesn't have to be 4.

2 + 2 can equal 5, for certain values of 2.

If you're a football fan, 2+2 = 3rd and 6.

It doesn't have to be 4, but if it becomes 5, then you have to rearrange your number theory to be internally consistent.

2+2=4 exists conventionally... in reality such things are as empty as everything else.
