I sold the car. The buyer had 300 left on the payment And I haven't heard from him in 3 months. Last I heard, the car was impounded in Augusta GA. I dont care about the car necessarily but I would still like to get compensated for the title if I can. Any advice? Besides Title Pawn/Loaning

So you still own the car? Then you are responsible for the car and the impound charges. It`s your car, if the title is still in your name. You can`t just sell a title without the car. You are still responsible.

If the title is still in your name and you havn't signed it over to the buyer, technically the car is still yours. If possible, I would try contacting the buyer to see if you can get the remaining 300 dollars. If you can't get in contact with the buyer, I would suggest contacting the place that has the car impounded and ask if they had any contact info on the car...if not, then you could show proof with the title that you are the owner, and have the car released to you. You could then try reselling the car again.

You can't sell a title by itself. A title goes with the car, why would anyone buy a title to a car they couldn't drive?

No....you can't sell the title without the car. You need to take the buyer to small claims court. Or, you can retrieve the car from impound and resell it.

No. You are still the legal owner and are now responsible for the impound fees. I would contact authorities in Georgia to see if you can locate the car. I don't think they keep them forever so you might want to do this quickly.
