I have an article of clothing that I found and would like to have DNA analysis performed on it. I was wondering if there is a laboratory that does this kind of work for the general public ane what the cost would be.

That would be a specialty lab. The cost would be very high. A DNA test for paternity runs $400 to $600 and they know who the persons involved are. A DNA test that you want would also need to be run through files of DNA that have been recorded.

If you do an internet search, there are plenty of private labs out there, it will cost several hundred dollars.

The next problem, a DNA profile in itself tells you nothing. Next you need a sample from the suspect to compare it to. That could be difficult.
