Is there any nutritional value in celery? I am starting a stict fruit and veggie diet (fish and chicken included). I have a ton of celery here at home. Is it good to eat or mostly just water?

I large stalk will net you about 10 calories, some Vit A, potassium, and some folate, but that's about it, mostly water. SO feel free to go nuts, I don't know anyone who ever got heavy from eating too many fruits and veggies.

Mostly just water, but if you like it eat it. There are much better choices for nutrient dense veggies though, so just make sure you eat those too (dark leafy greens, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, etc). In general, the more vibrant the color, the more nutrients. Celery is kinda light in color, so fewer nutrients. And that calorie burning thing--that's just a myth. You don't burn more calories than you consume while eating celery.

Celery is actually one of the few foods that you can eat where your body spends more calories burning it off than you will take in eating it. It's not bad to eat (especially if you need a snack) but it has very little nutritional value.
