I am completely baffled. He is almost 3 1/2. He was housebroken at a very young age and learned very quickly in only a few weeks. We have NEVER had any problems with this before. All of a sudden, he has begun to pee in the house. Not often, and usually in the morning.

For instance, I woke up at 7:00 am this morning and took him outside to pee. He pee'd 3 times and seemed to empty his bladder. While I was getting my children their breakfast and dressed, he peed in our dining room on a barstool leg. Not a lot of pee, but enough to make it stink in the room.

He has never done until recently. He was neutered about a year and a half ago.

It's possible that he has a bladder infection, or even something more serious, like a stone.
We had a dog at work that was behaving similarly and we finally had the vet do an ultrasound. The dog ended up having large stones.
He's too young for incontinence, so unless he's reacting behaviorally to some sort of change (a new baby, different feeding schedual, less walks, ect...) it's most likely a health issue that your vet can explain to you.
Good luck :)

Our 9-year-old Black Lab mix has been peeing on the carpets, since last year. We had the vet check her for an infection, but he couldn't find anything. They said it's a behavioral issue. She was spayed at about 1-1/2 yrs old. Short of locking her in the kitchen when we go out, we don't know what to do about it.

He could have a bladder infection and needs to be checked by a vet. Also, did you get a new pet recently? He might be marking his territory if you did.

You need to get him to the vet- he could have a bladder infection, which would cause frequent peeing and ignoring his bathroom habits to go outside..get it checked out ASAP- bladder infections can creep into the kidneys and cause kidney infections.

you need to call the vet and find out what's going on , you don't heave to pay anything if you just call in and ask questions . unless the vet want to see the dog.
