Then the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts-to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship. - Exodus 31:1-5

Bezalel was called by God to perform a most important work for Him. I am sure that Bezalel believed that he was naturally gifted with his hands to make fine crafts with gold, silver, and bronze. He probably did not associate it with God's work. But the Scripture tells us that God chose him and filled him with God's Spirit to enable him.

Your interest in your vocation is not born of your own making. So many workplace believers and even pastors have made the mistake of encouraging us who have a deep desire to walk with Christ in the workplace to pursue vocational ministry. To remove us from the workplace where the greatest harvest is yet to occur would be to remove us from where God called us. Do not take this bait. Serve the Lord in the workplace where He has gifted you and called you.

Some are never cut out to be a pastor in a church, but a "pastor" in the workplace.

I don't work out of the home right now. I feel I have been called to missions. I have been going to Haiti for the past 3 years taking food to impoverished villiages & working in orphanages & hospitals with a team of about 10. I also visit old people who are in shut-ins. I feel these are some of the things I am meant to do.

Amen !!! This Is how I should've worded my question. God has gifted & placed each one of us In certain areas/places. I do not have a Pastor's heart. This much I know. I love preaching & Bible prophecy with a firey passion. I have The heart of an evangelist. I know we're all called as ministers & priest of God. We're Ambassadors of Jesus Christ. I also have a true desire to see the lost come to know the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for ALL,to receive salvation. I also have the gift of sewing & Interior decorating. But those things take a back seat to the others....Great Question ! Blessings to you Mr.Newman. I can see where your question will spark the Interest of all who read It.

I believe the Lord has called me to lift up others in prayer. To give witness whenever possible to those in a dark world. I believe we are all called in different ways to serve.
I am a pretty simple person and I think the Lord uses me in some simple ways. There are those times when He leads me to a big job. I think that my children were a part of my ministry to Him. The Lord saw fit that I was able to raise three God fearing men who love Him! Looking after my mom with Alzheimer's is something He is leading me to do right now. May the Lord bless you!

True Dat!
Thank you for this.
Ya know I am not sure quite yet where I am called, but I believe it to be sharing the gospel with others-- missions-- that type of ministry. I have small kids right now but as they get older I am definately wanting to join the ministry of missions. I have been twice as a teenager to Mexico to help out, and loved it. God has given me a real desire to share His truth with others. And you know what? The funniest part about all of this is when I was younger I rememeber telling myself that I would never share the gospel with others because I was too afraid, and I would tell myself God did not give me that gift of voicing His word. Funny how the ONE thing you tell yourself you would never do or be gifted in, is the one thing God gives you. And the even funnier thing is EVERYONE can share the gospel of Jesus Christ! We just need to be bold! And He gives us that boldness and he gives us the words to say....That is HIS power working in us.

God does not choose the ministers today as He did in times past. A person becomes a minister of the gospel when he prepares himself for the role. God gives us certain talents, but the development of the talents are up to the individual. That is not to say that God does not help us to develop our talents in the way we want to go, but some are naturally more inclined because of the talents given.

Excellent point! The Word of God calls US a "Royal Priesthood".

Some pastors behave like chief executive officers, and we may be tempted to leave all the decisions to him; but don't leave everything to one man.

When Jesus said we could do "Greater things" he was referring to the efficiencies of numbers of faithful spreading the Good News, not just one voice.

We witness to anyone anywhere. Where ever people are found that can hear the Good News of the Kingdom.
Jehovah's Witnesses love their neighbor as themselves so we love to encourage bible reading and share with them a beautiful scripture from God's Word the Bible.
I witness to alot of my co workers and on the weekends we preach door to door. We also informal witness where ever we go.
