Because all religion is man made and it differs from place to place and in time. The one thing all religion has in common is the fact that it's fiction.

No. i might evaluate the prospect that the story of the flood grow to be handed all the way down to all Noah's grandchildren and their infants after them. over the years the data might have become blurred slightly, yet no longer inevitably plagiarized. i've got self assurance there are extra beneficial than 50 distinctive international flood debts. some are strikingly comparable, others no longer a lot so. Why do human beings place such credibility on very old writings, yet no longer the Bible. No checklist in human historic previous has won as a lot scrutiny, yet face up to all the 'severe' criticisms. there is not any artifact in historic previous that has been studied, analyzed, probed, criticized, or examined like the Bible. however, human beings nonetheless scoff at it.

Supposedly quite a number of cultures have flood myths, The question is do they match close enough to show a common event as a source or are they merely there because most civilizations develop around rivers (which, being rivers are prone to flooding).
The Inca's seem to have not only a flood myth but they have two of them, both of which destroyed the world. Of course the Inca were the last in a long line of civilizations, so to try to consider one of their floods as the Biblical one is a stretch.
Edit:
Just read the wikki version of the Chinese flood... wasn't the Mesopotamian civilization going strong at that time period?

Maybe you need to read more chinesse history. They didn't forgot the flood. However, the descendents from Noah who traveled to the land currently known as China remember the story with slight differences (as did other civilizations). Check for Nuwa within chinesse literature/ history/ mithology. Also:
* Shanhaijing, "Classic of the Mountain & Seas"
* Shujing, or "Book of History", probably written around 700 BC or earlier, states in the opening chapters that Emperor Yao is facing the problem of flood waters that "reach to the Heavens".

Uh, I hate to break it to you, but the Chinese do talk about the Flood. They even mention the bird let out to test for dry land. The Chinese Noah was name Fu Xi. You can read about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fu_Hsi
Ironically, the dates given by Chinese historians actually match the dates given in the book of Genesis, prompting some over-zealous scholars to speculate that the Xia dynasty was actually composed of ancient near-eastern tribes.
I forgot to mention, archaelogists have confirmed a major flood (in fact, a series of major floods) in southern Mesopotamia around 2800 BC.

The American Indians never got flooded at the time either . Same for the Primitive Australians , Eskimos , Africans ,Pacific Islanders , etc .
Only the Jews , Christians , and Muslims got flooded out .
There is no scientific evidence of any such " flood " .

Actually, there is a flood story in Chinese mythology. I forget the guy's name, but he saved everybody in his junk (as in boat).

because it's just a story. do you honestly think that the bible is the only book that was written around the time that it was? why do you not read about these so called events that happened in the bible in any other history book?
