I am adopting a pregnant pure bred siamese, and am just curious. Apparently she has been seen with an orange tabby, and is getting large. She is coming to me next Monday. And yes she will be fixed after she has this litter. I am just trying to take her out of a bad situation. Thanks!

half siamese, half tabby kittens!! lol.. you cant know for sure, unless you know what kind of cat the tabby is. im assuming he is just a mutt, so the kittens could turn out looking like anything!! hopefully you get some cute little siamese looking ones!!

"Siamese cats carry a gene known as the Himalayan gene. This gene is seen in other species, such as the rabbit & the mouse. It is a mutation at the C locus & it causes partial albinism. This gene is recessive to the full colour C gene. This means you need two doses of it (homozygous) for the Siamese colour to show up. If you mate a Siamese to a Siamese, you will get Siamese offspring. If you mate a Siamese to a black cat, you will get black offspring which will carry one dose of the Siamese (cs) gene at the C locus. "

We had a pure breed Siamese female cat where the father was a black cat. The offspring were 2 seal point Siamese kittens and one black kitten which had Siamese characteristics. Apparently the father was part Siamese or else all the kittens would have been black.
Siamese genetics are complicated. So unless the orange tabby was part Siamese(recessive) you will likely get a mixed bag of orange/ tabby kittens some of which may show some fur/body characteristics of Siamese. Some may have the vocal characteristic that Siamese are prized for.

You're assuming she mated only with the orange tabby male? Cats can mate with multiple partners, in which case, what she produces will be anyone's guess! If a Siamese mates with a gray tabby, depending on the tabby's heritage, you may see some tabby and some black kittens, with Siamese shaped bodies and personality and possibly the voice. Siamese coat color and eye color are recessive traits, so it's unlikely she'll throw any really "Siamese" kittens.

Most kittens that are half siamese end up being black and white. And they're usually VERY intelligent! I've had two cats who were half siamese and they were wonderful, very athletic especially as kittens and young adults, are slim to small in body size, and have the 'siamese-mix' coat -- which is a thick coat with a sort of greasy feel to the surface.
Once you get another generation down, any coat color is possible, but the intelligence stays, as does the lithe build and the voice. Oh yes! First and second generation can be 'talkers'.
My tuxedo cat is half siamese, he's 16 now and isn't even showing his age. Still talks up a storm, flies around the house, has the greasy feeling coat, and uses his paws to pick things up.

I had a mixed cat whose parents were a purebred Siamese (dad) and calico. The female kittens had Siamese markings and blue eyes with some seal point colored points and some calico points (that's what my cat looked like). The boys were all gray tabbies. So I expect you will get some that look Siamese with some funny point colors and some orange tabbies too.

With cats, you never really know what the kittens will look like. Unless either the mum or dad are a large portion of a significant breed, the kittens could look like any kind of cat. They might still have the Siamese features (slender, bigger ears, etc.) but they could be ANY colour. I had a friend whose 2 black and grey tabby cats had kittens together, one of them was solid white, one solid black, and one calico, and the other 2 were just like their mum and dad. It's kind of a crapshoot with mixed breeds.
They're going to be pretty and adorable no matter what, though, so you needn't worry too much.

I had a half-siamese kitten and she was lovely - especially personality wise.
Sometimes if the other parent is striped, you'll come out with a very pretty striped siamese look.
Mine looked mostly Siamese except she had a very alley-cat shape to her head and a much more relaxed temperament. She had the most beautiful blue eyes you ever saw!

Some kittens will look like ''mama'', and some may look like ''daddy'' (those will be almost guaranteed male, like most orange tabbies are).
Not too often you'll find one that will be a mix of both parents. Most I would expect, is maybe a blue eyed Tabby, or an orange-eyed siamese.

Some will look like the mom and some like the dad. Do you have experience with caring for newborn kittens? I'm sure you do because most shelters don't let someone foster/adopt a pregnant cat without experience. Anyways, some of the kittens will look like the mom and some the dad and maybe some both.
