A Japanese tea cup (have the whole set on display) would give you a hefty sized shot.

If you have time some day, do an "experiment".

Using a shot glass, pour the desired amount (1 to 1.5 oz) into various sized glasses-then you'll be able to eyeball a shot and not need a shot glass.

Once you're able to "eyeball" a standard shot, you won't need to find a replacement for a shot glass or otherwise find something handy or less noticable.

A shot is 1.5 ounces, so anything roughly the same size should do.

1 US cup = 8 US fluid ounces so a shot is 3/4 of a quarter cup.

get a 1/4 cup measuring cup and fill it 3/4 up and you got your shot.

I think the cup that comes on a bottle of nyquil or pepto bismol is about the same size.

Bartenders don't measure every amount of alcohol added to a mixed drink. They count the seconds of the pour. Pour a shot, count in 1-1000, 2-1000, etc. to find the correct amount vs time.

A shot is 1 1/2 oz. so any thing that measures ounces will work for you.
