Use woolite and soak your blanket fleas can not live in soap.
Or you can put the blanket in a plastic bag with flea powder and leave it sealed for 24 hours.
These will only help if your dog and your house are rid of fleas.

any bug bite cream will relieve flea bite itching. as far as getting the fleas out of the blankets ... the blankets are not the source if the infestation. Yes, the blankets can retain fleas that return to the people/dog. but you need to wash the dog(s), the people, the blankets, and EVERYTHING else that might have fleas all at once to get rid of the fleas. You can't give the dog a flea dip and wash the blankets next weekend. for flea infestations in carpets you should spray and look into getting flea traps. Flea traps are disks of sticky paper warmed to an enticing (for fleas) temperature by a 60 watt bulb. The fleas go toward the warmth and get glued to the paper.

flea repoduce, more then people think. Heat kills the eggs more then anything, put your blankets in the dryer. Fleas are very hard to get rid of in your house. best bet.... spend about 100 bucks, call your local pest control, and have your house bombed.

Sprinkle them with baking soda/salt mixed and leave overnight... Shake them out the next day... Fleas will die and it will freshen the blanket without harming them.. .You can also run them through the dryer (dry) that should help as well. .Also, sprinkle BS/Salt on your carpets and vacuum the next day... Good luck

i have found that the sprays dont work as well as the powders. there are regular flea powders, but you can also use seven dust. then wash them.

@mama woof - if you use hot wash water and hot dryer the wool blanket will be ruined. The hot wash/dry is a great idea for blankets made from other fabrics, but not wool.
