It's probably just some toxic gases released by the impact or generated by a chemical reaction caused by the heat.

saw that. when I was a kid, a meteor hit aways from where I lived. My neighbor brought it in and cut it open. He said a sort of smoke came from inside it, and it made the whole family sick for aday or so. Later, they found out it was a beryllium type rock and that's why they got sick........Guess mom was right when she said you shouldn't play with stuff unless you know where it came from...
