As an ex-baldie, [ did surgery, chemo, radiation ] some tips:
1] buy several cute stocking caps in favorite colors for you and mom [ head gets cold! ]
2] good wigs are very expensive [ more than $1, 000, many times! ]
3] your mom could buzz hers off too, when she starts chemo - I did!
4] buy mom some Nioxin shampoo starter kit, for when chemo is done [ my hair took forever to come back, but Nioxin helped a lot! ]

This really can't be answered without seeing your guitar. Most of the time, the buzzing you hear will be because of improper technique. Depressing the string is not about sheer power. I have seen girls as young as eight and nine play clean chords. They do this without muscle, but rather with deft fingers. Make sure you are depressing the string with the tips (not pads) of your fingers, and location on the string where you press is just behind the fret. To find out if your fingering needs work, play each string in a chord separately, and listen for buzzing. If you hear it on a particular string, check your fingering and make minute adjustments until you eliminate the buzz. Once you get all the string to sound clean, release the chord, and then immediately try to re-finger it. The goal is to be able to train your muscles to get your fingers back into the clean-sounding position right from the start, without having to constantly re-adjust. On the other hand, a guitar can buzz for a variety of reasons. It might have been set up poorly (or not at all); the bridge might be misaligned or coming loose; the nut may be worn down or improperly seated; individual frets might be out of alignment; the action might be set too low; the neck might be warped; and many more... Do you hear any buzzing when you play open strings? If so, your guitar has problems. Next, try placing a capo at various positions up the neck and see if you hear any buzzing from open strings. If you hear any buzzing while doing these experiments, your guitar has some problems and you should take it to a shop and have it evaluated and adjusted.

I've donated my hair 2 times so far to Locks of Love, and my first born daughter has donated hers once. It is a good cause, but I would not do it just for getting some money. I do so because I care. I will keep on growing out my hair and donating it time & time again.

Thats actually very nice of you to donate your hair. If you wanna go Britney Spears and shave it all off, go ahead its for a good cause. There is always wigs. I personally wouldn't do it, but if you think you can pull it off. And no thats not crazy. LOL good luck.

What a great idea! You get to give twice - once to a stranger who needs your help and then again to your mother.
Crazy, no way - just much more giving than many folks would be.
Wish I understood how the $1000 fit into it. It would be even better if you were doing it for free.

Go for it girl! I buzzed off all my hair in high school when a friend was diagnoses with cancer and lost all of her hair. I didn't look too fantastic but it made her smile... You're doing it for a good reason! Go for it!

You're doing it for a good cause, it's not like you're just doing for no reason - on the spur of the moment.
It sounds like a great idea, as long as you're ok with it, I'd say go for it!
Best wishes!
