I need it for self defense and would be carrying it daily,so let me know which is better of the two OR if something else is out there for me ? I have small hands and need a decent gun, not too heavy nor too light.

For day-to-day carry, I'd probably go with the Glock (it's a lighter "polymer" frame - so it's not as heavy in your holster)

If you've got small hands - you might not like the Glock, the double-wide clip tends to give them a "fat" grip which can be uncomfortable for people with smaller hands.

I'd recommend going to a good range and trying out either of them & seeing what you're most comfortable with.

Beretta 92fs Vs Glock 19

I carry on the daily basis and did not choose either of these for myself. If these are you only choices I would not hesitate to pick the Glock over the Beretta.
If you have a choice beyond just these two, look at some of the smaller glocks.
A great gun for people with smaller hands is the Browning High Power. Now you'll end up with a full sized gun again but they are wonderful handguns and my wife has small hands and has no problem with hers.
Generally speaking, if your not a "gunny" I usually recommend a wheel gun for concealed carry. They are lower maintenance and easier to operate. Depending on the situation you're in give some consideration to the Charter Arms Bull Dog. It's a 5-shot .44 SPL. Small, light, reliable and surprisingly accurate if you are willing to practice a little. It's even cheap. But it's no good for a protracted gunfight.
If you are really worried about finding yourself in a protracted gunfight, and your restricted to a handgun, I'd have to say carry a full sized glock in the caliber of your choice and buy at least 4 spare magazines and carriers.

My 2 cents, now go do whatever you want to do anyway.

I own a Glock 19 and have shot a couple thousand rounds through it. I've never had a misfire of any type and it's very easy to clean and maintain. The only time I have an issue with concealed carry is if I wear it behind/on the hip with a t-shirt (the butt of the grip makes an impression). Usually, if I wear it with a t-shirt then I wear it crossdraw with a cant towards my dominant hand. If you decide that a Glock is not for you, then consider the Kahr K9 or the Springfield XD. Both are nice pistols. The XD is very similar to the Glock (easy to take apart and maintain) but has a different grip angle (1911 style grip) and the Kahr uses single stacked mags versus double stacked (Glock and XD use this type) and as a result is thinner but also carries less rounds. I can't comment on the Kahr's maintenance and carry options b/c I've never owned one just fired one at the range. But my assumption would be that the Kahr would be lighter and easier to conceal due to its thin frame.

Of the guns you have mentioned I would suggest the Glock 19. My reasons are simple. They have fewer controls than the 92FS, are lighter in weight and have a consistent shot to shot trigger that any conventional double action trigger will not have. While you can master the long and heavy first shot with all follow up shots having a lot of take up and then engaging the sear, I have to ask why you'd want to? You can't afford enough ammo to wear a Glock out either but real world use shows that the 92FS will need to be rebuilt while the Glock will not even show signs of wear. The down side to the Glock is that if you reload, you must reload with jacked bullets. No lead or even hard Linotype should be shot from any Glock. For novices to shooting, the striker fired pistols like the Glock, S&W MP, and the Springfield Armory XD are my choice. They are easier to master than conventional double action pistols but don't have that wonderful light and crisp trigger of a 1911 which can lead to an accidental discharge under the stress of an armed conflict. I'm a fan of the 1911 myself but I've shot tens of thousand of rounds in practice and competition through them. If you can't commit to that sort of range time the please don't go that route. All that being said, having a firearm for self defense is an awesome responsibility and not one to be taken lightly. Learning basic gun safety and to shoot a paper target under static range conditions is not nearly enough training. Find a qualified instructor and get trained, the practice what you have trained for. Good Luck.

gun glock 19 beretta 92fs

If you are going to be carrying the puppy on a daily basis and it is for self defense I have the following suggestion for you. I carry one at all times concealed (job reasons/classified) and for no weight or bulge or problems I picked up a little Kel Tec P-11 in 9mm/ 10 round mag/ very compact and light. You don't even know it is there. For more serious social work I use my 45 auto, but with that you need a belt and holster and yada; it is about as concealable as a brick. I have grown very adept at solving any problems with words so I prefer to use the Kel Tec as a concealed item that is comfortable to live with. It was only 242 frogskins and does the job. If you are mind set on the glock or beretta go with the beretta.

My choice would be the Glock 19. This is the compact model, which is alighly smaller than the full sized Glock Model 17. The gun is light, easy to conceal, and super safe, and every part of it can be replace by the operator once you get to know the gun. The Beretta is big, and the trigger reach is long. The military has already put into motion a study to replace the Beretta, and some of the law enforcement agencies who have adopted it as their official sidearm have dropped it in favore of Glock, or other semi-autos.
The final decision has to be yours. Use whatever fits your hand and you feel comfortable with.

Either one is a good gun but if I had to carry one it would be the Glock. It all depends on what you prefer to carry and shoot.

I have a Taurus PT-101 (.40 Cal version of your Beretta 94FS) and although it shoots nice, for the size, you get more magazine capacity and less weight from the Glock. A Glock is also easier to carry and conceal.

With that in mind, I agree with another poster that maybe you should step up a caliber- to a .40S&W. I prefer something with a little more punch than a 9mm , not that it doesn't work for some. If you can handle the G19, you can probably handle the G23 -the (.40 cal) subcompact. I would stay away from the "mini Glock" until you were comfortable carrying a weapon altogether. Once you are OK with toting one around all day, then check out the mini.

My wife has small hands, may weigh about 130 lbs after a huge steak dinner, and can tear things up with her Glock 23. She doesn't mind the recoil and can put rounds on target fast or slow, so don't be afraid to step up a caliber. At least try it. There is a little more recoil but not enough to ruin your day.

If you are set on a 9mm then please stay with one. But if you are just shopping, try a few guns and calibers out, then make a choice from there. Ultimately it is up to you and what you feel most comfortable and effective with.

I like the .45ACP and don't mind carrying a full size Gov model, but for comfort, weight and mag capacity, (didn't like them "black plastic pistols" until the wife got one!) a Glock is a safe, easy gun to both carry and shoot.

Other considerations: S&W M&P Series; Taurus Millineum Series; Ruger "P" Series.

All can be had in either 9mm or .40S&W, are compact, and are not any more or less expensive than the two weapons which you initially asked about. A carry gun is a broad term when it comes to 9mm's and the .40S&W's.

For simplicity, shooting, maintenance, handling and features, my OPINION would be the Glock (G23) over the Beretta, but you are definitley entitled to yours, since you will be the one carrying it around all day.

If you have small hands and plan on carrying this daily (you do have a permit, don't you?) you probably don't want either of these choices. The 92 is a big pistol, have you used one?

I'd recommend you spend some time in gun stores holding a variety of pistols to see what is going to fit your hand naturally and also to compare weight. In daily carry, every ounce will count.

Also, consider a lightweight revolver in .38 or .357. Much easier to carry, maintain, operate and use in a stressful situation.

Another pistol to look at for you is the Kahr CW series. Quality in a smaller size and IMO better than the shrunken down Glocks.

Do NOT listen to the "Get a .40, not a 9mm" peanut gallery. They read too many Gun magazines and have been brainwashed by the Gun Advertising Media into thinking that newer is better when it's actually not. Nothing wrong with 9mm for defense carry.

I like Beretta better than Glock BUT the Glock would be the better choice for daily carry. I wasn't going to mention anything about Springfield Armory XDs but you said you have smaller hands and may I suggest them to you. They fit in my hand (which are smaller) better plus the extra safeties they have. Grip, striker indicator and load indicator. They are also a little heavier but better with recoil than Glocks.
As for your question though again I would say the Glock.

Props to DJ about the 9mm mention...9mm is under rated and perfect for self defense and carry.
