I like how some people gave a history on them. Doesnt make them any less gay. And singing on TV is a big diffrence than being a teacher. And If that was a class i wouldnt send my kids there. Its like watching me dad or grand dad sing and dance. Its just odd. Yes men can sing and dance but when you hit 50 i dont think you should keep going with they kids shows like that. Weird.

NO...they're great. They've been around for ages...I live in Australia and they were popular way back in 1994, two years before I had my first child. So once upon a time, they were young men who had a kids show.
Two of the members (Jeff and Anthony) actually used to be part of a rock band called the Cockroaches, but didn't get very far. After they disbanded, Anthony went on to uni to study early childhood development, and met Greg and Murray who were doing the same course. Anthony, Greg and Murray initially teamed up to create a music performance project for their studies, and through this learned that there was a great need for quality children's music, so decided to form the band, whereupon Anthony invited Jeff to join.
They released an album through ABC records, and were advised to do a tour, so they toured malls, childcare centres, pre-schools etc, and started to become popular.
When Anthony's (blue wiggles) brother had a stillborn or sids baby (think it was sids actually) they started doing more with hospitals, and became big contributors to the SIDS foundation.
I think they are great...and Anthony himself is new(ish) dad, his wife had a baby boy this year, to add to their two daughters, so they're not THAT old.
Edit: Lisa T, yeah I agree Anthony is cute, but I think Capn Feathersword is mega hot LOL
Roxy D, only one of them is over fifty.

No way-they are great bloaks! We adore the Wiggles in my house and start every day with them. My son sings along and can tell you what colors they are. He thinks they are the Beatles to put it another way. And 4 great guys who are a positive role model for kids in this day and age is a wonderful thing. They started as young guys who studied early childhood education. They also had an interest in music. I think it would be hard to do something you love that much and have to give it up just because someone thinks your too old. I hope they stick with it for a long time-and we love Sam (new Yellow shirt) who has taken over for Greg due to Greg's health issue. I can't wait to see them in concert in Nov.

A good majority of the children are from single parent homes headed up by the mother. Sometimes the father is in the picture and sometimes not. Either way children need good male role models. These "old grown men" as you call them are well educated men who care about children and their education. I think children more of the WIGGLES.

the wiggles is a show to entertain young children and the children that enjoy watching the show have still have innocence so, to them it doesn't matter that it is grown men. the wiggles could be all woman and it wouldn't bother the kids cause of what they are doing is keeping them occupied and entertained

It's about as odd as your kid having a male teacher. I think like, three of them taught children prior to forming The Wiggles.

I don't think that it is odd and I don't think that they old either. They really can keep a child's attention and creepy is not the word I would use. They are always dancing and singing and children like to watch them over and over again.

So many children's shows are creepy I can't even start. The only one that doesn't creep me out on some level is Blues Clues. Even Elmo sounds a little angry and sarcastic to me sometimes.

They used to be YOUNG men that loved this, too.
Are men not allowed to want to entertain children?
I know there are lots of CREEPS and pervs out there, but not every man is, even when they really enjoy entertaining young children, no matter what their age is.
But, you never know, one or all of them could be a creep! ;) lol
