I bite my tongue and decently answer the question/statement as to how hurtful it is. I definately control myself and do not act like them (however it is very very tempting at times)

Well, there are plenty of them here in the R/S section on Y/A. I can sometime really laugh at there trivial thoughts and pathetic reasoning. However, I know it is fruitless to fight fire with fire. It is not gonna help to reply with sarcastic answers. The blasphemers feed of it. In the real world (away from the computer keyboard), you should live by God's rules and Jesus's example. We must never be scared to view our opinions, but we must not say it in a way that attack or hurt other people

Mostly I shake my head and wonder if they really understand what they're doing.

I know that there's little that I can do to "make" them change, but I do pray for them to gain the knowledge necessary to understand the foolishness of that pattern of behavior, hoping that the new knowledge will cause a change....

If/when I actually do act and respond to them, it's usually words couched in a "that was really rude to (whomever)" way.

One man's humor is (often) another man's blasphemy. I try not to judge, but some things that are said in fun can still really hurt.

When I come across someone who is cursing and using God's name in vain, I politely ask them to stop. But, apparently there are not that many people that know what blasphemy is. True blasphemy is actually attributing the works of God to satan. When the Jewish leaders accused Jesus of getting his "powers" to do miraculous works from demons-----that was blasphemy.

I know that I have my own problems, so who am I to criticize others?

I DO cringe, however, and ask if they could find a better way of expressing themselves.

Addtional note to premaholic:
No - that's like saying that if you see somebody stealing, then they aren't a robber unless you call them one.

Someone who steals is a thief, whether you say it or not.

Likewise, somebody who commits blasphemy is committing blasphemy whether you say anything or not. It's not "judgemental" to state the obvious.

If the person is standing in my house, on my property, or in front of my children, I ask them to stop blaspheming.

If the person is not in my house, on my property, or in front of my kids, I have no right to tell another person what they can or cannot say. But they can't stop me from silently praying for them, can they? ; )
