You can fly direct to Marco Polo airport which is just outside Venice, with Easyjet-and if you book well in advance it`s very cheap.

From the airport, you get the free bus service to the jetty-and then hop on a vaparetto (water-bus) ,which takes you down the grand canal into the heart of Venice.

For Italian part, there's Marco Polo http://www.veniceairport.it/core/index.jsp?_requestid=594480&language=en
(you can check Arrivals to Venice in order to find departure airports)
but remember you can also consider Treviso airport: http://www.trevisoairport.it/tsf/index.jsp?_requestid=596189&language=en
You can easily reach Venice from there.
