It depends how long you been seeing this guy when you decide to tell him you love him, if its been a long relationship then yes you should say it if thats what your feeling but, if its nothing serious and you say it then i can understand why he'd run a mile.
As for trying to fix you up with his best mate, that means he aint got no feelings for you, so dont waste your breath with i love you's.

Maybe he's scared to be in love! he's prolly feeling the same way but really dont want to. Its not about him playing you or anything he just dont know what to do. Im the same way and im going threw it right now! i think im falling in love with my boyfriend but i dont want to tell him because i dont wanna be in love with him because i seen what love can do to be a person and im not trying to experience that kind of pain! i dont know give him to time to think things threw he'll come around sooner or later he just need time to get his emotions in order!

From my experiences they don't want a comment they are out to play the field. Even though they are dating you, it's all for fun and games. But, when they find the right person believe me they fully comment their selves. Surprising but they really do.
