Realistically, if I were President of the US, to rid the country of illegal immigrants I would:
1) enforce the laws that are already on the books(simple isn't it?)
2) end birthright citizenship
3) force schools to ask the citizenship status of all students; then, I would require that the students in attendance illegally, be disenrolled asap
4) make illegal entry into the US a felony (as opposed to a misdemeanor)
5) demand that for each illegal immigrant the US finds and deports, their home country reimburses the US' expenses
6) set-up more ICE agencies across the country
7) hire more ICE agents
I am sure that there are many more items which I can utilize, but these, to me, are the most basic needs of the country right now

Simple. Go through with the national ID card like they said they were going to do. They said it would cost billions but worth it.
No card, no job, no apartment...nothing. This is the only way to stop the illegals. A fence is a joke. A fence can't keep out anyone.
Crippling business penalties for business owners who hire illegals that do not have this card; including jail time even if it's a week.
Only then we can go back to allowing a controlled amount of immigrants to come here. Of coarse we will always want a determined amount of immigrants, but documented how many from where and impose equal limits to restore the melting pot of America.
Nothing will work except the national ID card.

I wouldn't propose to make them documented they broke the law coming here in the first place I'd send them back all of them. I would however give them the paperwork needed to come here and tell them to fill it out correctly and hire people to just work these cases so that everyone who comes here can have all the rights as an American Citizen. I would also make it so that anyone with any kind of criminal record trying to come here would be denied as well as strengthening our border security and building the fence which is already supposed to be getting built which is not. No I'm not racist I just want people to be here legally and to know the laws and abide by them

My plan is to spend as little money getting rid of them as possible, we have spent too much on them already.
First we pass laws that puts the CEO, managers, and the whole HR department of any company hiring or helping illegals in prison. No fines, please, they can afford them. Five years mandatory in general population for each illegal hired or helped. Help includes admitting them to any public school, admitting or treating them at any hospital or healthcare facility, renting to them, selling property to them, selling them phone, electric or gas service, and allowing them to use your bank.
Next we start paying a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons helping them.
After maybe 2-300 people are in prison the rest will see we mean business and stop aiding illegals in any way.
No jobs, no loans, no health services, no social services, no place to live, no car, no ANYTHING and they will be forced to leave.
I further suggest that at this time we set up a toll booth all along our southern border and collect a $1000 toll from any illegal wanting to leave the country. They would not be able to take anything with them except the clothing they are wearing and NO cash or money of any kind.
The toll pays the reward to whistleblowers so this actually costs very little and will work quickly without putting the burden of the expense of deportation on us.
add that anyone who has married an illegal is now illegal themself and has not only lost their citizenship but also has to leave the country.

I would do another census, and document every person who was not able to present identification to prove that they were a citizen -- I would then issue an order preventing those people from moving or leaving the country until they had been issued social security numbers, and such . . .
I would, obviously, grant them amnesty. . . .
Then, I would put land mines at all of the borders, or make it a civilian effort to keep illegals out (but, I would also make the legal immigration process less of an uphill battle. .. ).

Give them a 2 week head start to "run for the border". After the 2 weeks were up, issue a national round up where any legal citizen could round up as many illegals as they want and deport them all by themselves. Also, allow for citizens to guard the border, since the government refuses to do so. Punish any citizen trying to stop or hinder the round up with one count of treason for each person they tried to stop.

I think nearly everyone agrees that we shouldn't have illegal immigrants in the USA. The only people who want illegal immigrants are business owners who can exploit them more easily than they can exploit citizens or legal immigrants.
I think there should not be an "amnesty" plan but a "reconciliation" plan. Allow people to legalize themselves, but with some stiff penalties so that it does send a message to people that there's a right way and a wrong way to go about entering. A big financial penalty should be put in, plus a ban on ever getting citizenship for these people. Also, even a misdemeanor conviction for one of these people should result in immediate deportation.
For the future, there should be more legal immigrants allowed, but also more requirements for what they must do. They should be required to have health insurance, which either they pay for themselves, or their employer pays for. No government subsidized health care, and no visits to the emergency room for things that aren't emergencies. Also no other government subsidies like food stamps or tax credits. It should be easier to get a visa to go live somewhere where there aren't as many from your group than to go somewhere where your group dominates. This will help integration.
There should also be a retirees visa, for people who have the means to support themselves and want to retire somewhere warm and sunny, like Florida. There are probably about a million illegal immigrants who are in this category, and I don't think anyone can really argue that these people are a threat to anyone.
Border enforcement won't work for eliminating illegal immigration. About half of them are visa overstayers, anyways. Border enforcement could cut the number of illegal immigrants, but certainly can't solve the problem. The only way to reduce dramatically future illegal immigration is to crack down on employers who hire people illegally. This means that the under-the-table for cash laborers are something we'll just have to deal with, but if there are legal ways for people to come in, the illegal channels will be much less popular.
Finally, I think another thing is important to remember. Compare the migration habits of Mexicans and Puerto Ricans. Lots of Puerto Ricans move back and forth between the mainland and the island, because they can. As we've started tightening border security, we've found that the duration for which illegal Mexican immigrants has increased. A lot of these people just want to come to America, save a few thousand dollars, and move back home to invest that in a home or a business. If they know it will be hard to come back again, they stay longer and take back more money, just to be safe. If they know that they could come back again, they actually spend less time in America.

I would put a "shoot on sight" order on the border, add several thousand guards, start deporting ALL arrestees found to be illegal immediately, and start checks of employment records with stiff fines for hiring illegals. I would also require utility companies to stop hooking up new customers unless proof of citizenship were shown.

We would need to secure our borders. We need to toughen up our border policies, restrict who is able to cross. We need more guards and we need to give them more authority after they have received extensive training. If you want to get rid of the illegals then we need to organize more raids to get them out. It will take time and money. I think we should do a cost analysis to see which is more cost effective, keeping them here or moving them out. I would work to improve our educational system (science & math emphasis w/ arts) so that all of our citizens are able to get better paying jobs and to keep us innovative leaders. That is our competitive advantage that we are in serious danger of losing.

Enforce the laws we already have. That's the job of the executive branch.
It's already illegal to sneak in here. It's already illegal to hire them. There already is a law to fund the border fence. There already are laws to deport people you catch in here illegally.
