I have heard non-religious people argue that religions may be based on fables, but at least it is an institution that promotes good morals. I use the exact same example as you to contradict that notion.
Nothing in Protestant Christian doctrine encourages you in any way to behave morally. In fact, they tell you that you CAN NOT.
I've also heard Christians claim that all sins are equal to god, that saying goddamnit is just as bad as raping babies or murdering grandmothers. That is another morally bankrupt teaching.
Christian doctrine is designed to perpetuate itself, not improve the human condition.

Agreed! It's a shame, however; that no matter how much sense you try to talk into these people they always see their religion being more worthy of salvation from their fictional god than anyone else on the planet.
The most charitable selfless person on the planet is going to hell because they're not christian, but the most "devout" christian who owns a nice big house, a big expensive gas guzzling SUV, and sends their kid to a 6,000 per-kid catholic private school...... The christian who only donates to charity when the fad for their possessions is over and they have no use for them anymore.... Those same christians who are the ones who only go to church on sundays to be sure their soul is saved and they go about the rest of the week telling others how to live their lives and telling other people how they are sinners destined for hell.
It's all a bunch of @ss-backwards B.S!!

First, no one goes to have for any action or deed. That includes saving millions, never harming anyone or following a dogma. Those who go to heaven do so because they are part of the family of God.
Kind of like you can be the greatest person in the world, never do anything wrong, saving millions of people, but in the end not inherit anything from Bill Gates because you have no relationship with him.
Those who go to heaven do so because they have made a surrender of their lives to God, acknowledged him as their Lord, and following his leadings. If ay one time they were a criminal, that is washed away when they enter into the new relationship with God. From that time forward they no longer will be a murderer, rapist, or thief. So no murderer, rapist or thief will go to heaven. See 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 where it specifically states that.
As far as someone being "good their whole lives, and then being excluding from heaven.... That is like hiring someone and have them being the greatest roofer in the world. They go up and strip your companies roof and totally redo it to perfection. But your intention for them was to run a press, not reshingle the roof. It was a great job, but totally useless to your plan and need. So people can do a fantastic job at all kinds of things, but if it not what God intended for them to do, it is worthless.
Admission to heaven is not based on a persons actions, but on their relationship with the Ruler of heaven.

You are correct. God does not condone injustice. All will be judged based on their works, not just what they say they believe. Those who do good shall receive good. Those who do evil and do not repent will receive punishment. Part of the repentence is to make restitution for the thing that was done wrong. That is why murder and rape are so serious. How can you make restitution for either? A thief could replace that which was stolen and ask for forgiveness.

God knows what is in our heart. Even when we willl not pray, he knows our moral fiber. And a person who saves millions of lives ( that is a bit of a stretch, don't you think) would surely not escape God's loving gaze. So, don't get in a snit here... because I agree. I , as a Christiasn, believe condemnation for such a person would be asinine.

If the doctor doesn't believe in Hell why should he care? It comes down to this: You must be born again (Accept Jesus into your life and live according to his teachings). Horrible people can and do turn their hearts over to Jesus. Only Jesus knows the true heart of a person. Just because someone says they are a christian doesn't always mean they really are. You can tell if someone is walking thier talk. After we die we will all be judged for the good and bad things we did on earth. Denying Jesus is a bad thing according to God.

I agree with you that doesn't make any sense. But that is not the way that it is. Jesus died to relieve us of inherited sin from Adam nothing more. We are then accountable for our actions. The pharisees believed the bible and yet Jesus condemed them.
Matthew 7:21 Not everyone saying to me Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom of the heavens. But the one doing the will of my father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day. "Lord, Lord did we not prophesy in your name and expell demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name? and then I will confess to them I never knew you . Get away from me you workers of lawlessness.
So these Christians thought they were saved.
The only one they fooled was themselves.
Luke 13:24 when asked are those being saved few?
He said to them, "exert yourself vigerously to get in through the narrow door

You are correct.Let me give you a better example.
Gandhi. One of the greatest and most peace loving men in history. Not a christian so straight to hell.
Hitler.A megalomaniac, monster who caused the deaths of millions.Catholic who believed he was doing the work of god.
Instant access through the pearly gates.
This is of course according to how christianity thinks.

It makes complete sense. If they have asked for forgiveness and asked Jesus into their lives then they are saved. It is just that God does not see sins differently, sins are sins to him no matter what you have done,

Actually not one person with one sin enters heaven.
Not one righteous man will perish.
Don't be confused the atonement does bring a man to God's righteousness.
No man of himself is righteous.
