If they say 59 dollars per semester hour and you want to take one class?

colleges charge per unit.

example- if you are taking a 3 unit course.

each unit is worth $30 then the total cost would be=$90

if you were taking a 4 unit class, then it would be= $120

each course carries with it a number of semester or quarter hours. Usually it's from 2-4....now the courses that are unimportant and are electives and have short term are usually the 2's and there are very few of those. Quarter hours are the 4 per course. But you're asking about semester hours so it's probably 3, so 3 credit hours x $59 - $177 for that course, but check your catalog for the amount of credit hours that course is. Each book costs about $50. I don't know if there will be any other charges or if you will need more than one book.

I suggest that you determine the number of times classes meet for 1 semester and then multiple that the number of hours by $59.

The answer depends on how many credits a class is worth. If it was 1 credit, it would be $59. If it was worth two credits, it would be worth $118. In addition it depends upon if you filled out the financial aid form for government grants or need based college scholarships. I have included some links which should help.
