Has anyone had any experience with this particular store?
Good/Bad?
Please let me know. I've been reading horror stories about David's Bridal and I'm thinking about NOT taking a trip to check out their dresses.
Please answer ONLY if you have been to the HAGERSTOWN MARYLAND David's Bridal store. Whether as a Bride, or in the Bridal Party.
Thank you.

Lacy - Thanks. As I said I've seen lots of horror stories from many Davids Bridals, but I was hoping to hear from those who have gone to the Hagerstown, MD store. Thanks for the information! :)

I've dealt with a lot of different Bridal stores in Maryland. I've noticed that the best ones are the ones that are more privately owned. Davids Bridal likes to get money and contracts out of you...and they are a lot less personal. I'm not saying they are a horrible place though. If that is your only option, then I'm sure you can get what you want... but I'd try and look around first.

I use to live in Gaithersburg, MD. I visited the Rockville David's and had a horrible experience. I order my maids from them and they messed them all up! I can't imagine that Hagerstown would be any better. I now own a bridal store on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I hear crazy stories about David's everyday! Good Luck. Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Only go if you're on a tight budget, but don't expect great customer service. I live in Virginia and went to the one at Potomac Mills. I had to wait a half hour even though I had an appointment. My bridesmaids brought me all my dresses, not the sales lady (who then expected the commission!) They tell you to look for 2 sizes greater than what you are, but actually I'm 2 sizes smaller than what I wear. Alterations are out the @$$ ($150 just to sow on 2 buttons to make a bustle??) The only good thing is that you can buy the dress off the rack (though be careful 'cause a lot are beat up and missing beads and hooks). I didn't have time to order my dress (total length of engagment is 3 months), and luckily there was nothing wrong with my dress. Though you couldn't pay me to ever go back there. Listen to everyone else: don't go there.

I didnt go to Hagerstown, but I went to another Davids Bridal just to check it out. I witnessed dresses being dragged on the carpet, trampled on, people had food and drinks in the store. And the way they keep their dresses all smashed together on the racks, in the window with the sunlight coming in...
Lots of beads were also falling off the dresses I tried on. And I felt really bad for the sales staff because they just didnt have enough hands to handle a million demanding brides.
I think you can skip the trip.

I don't think your going to have many people who SPECIFICALLY went to the Hagerstown David's Bridal store.
Anyways, my wedding dress shopping at David's Bridal sucked. They weren't on top of it at all.
I went back just because my bridesmaids wanted to go there and it was great, everyone else got their dresses there and the girl that helped us was awesome. Every store is different. I've heard great things and I've heard awful things. Good Luck!

I have too heard horror stories about David's Bridal, but I bought my dress there. Truly, they order a new dress for you anyways, so it doesn't really matter what the sample dresses look like. Of course they are going to get beaten up being tried on a million times. Just don't buy them off the rack.
When I went to pick it up, they tried to get me to sign an agreement saying that I had looked at my dress and found everything to be in right order BEFORE I had looked it. I said, I'm not signing this until I try it on and see that everything looks right. She tried to get me to sign it anyways, but I refused and said I'd sign it AFTERWARDS. So I did. I do not plan on getting my dress altered there as I've just heard too many bad stories and plan instead to take it to a local alterations place. But I also went plenty of time in advance so if anything had happend, I still had months to get my dress. And it came in in only two weeks so that was fabulous.

I live in Louisiana and I actually bought my wedding dress from Davids Bridal. The customer service is NOT great - I promise. I had to wait for someone to help me for 30 minutes and I had an appointment. I do get all my dresses from there only because it was convenient for my bridesmaids. Some of my bridesmaids live out of state and there was always a davids bridal near them. If everyone in your wedding is close to you and you have another choice - I would go with someone else.

I JUST bought my dress at Davids Bridal in Glen Burnie MD and It was a great experience. For my consultant's privacy I wont mention her name, but she was truly very personable and the store was very clean, the dresses were clean and the costumer service was superb. I actually felt very at home, the first time I went I did not make an appointment, but they still appointed me a consultant, and after that I have made appointments with her since.
I was not pushed into buying a dress, we literally tried on atleast 30 dresses.
They also were great when half of my bridesmaids didn't show up for their appt. and when we needed anything they were right on it.
I have to say, if you are going to a Davids bridal in MD I would suggest making the trip to Glen Burnie. The staff is wonderful!
PS-- I HATE shopping in general, so to actually like a store like this for me is AMAZING
OH and I forgot--when I ordered my dress in August they gave a reciept with dates to expect them in, most were in Oct and Nov. I just picked up EVERYTHING last week. I have to say you cant beat that.
I Would also like to mention I went to a Privatly owned bridal salon in Waldorf and almost none of the samples were larger than a size 16, and everything I tried on the sales lady told me "oh thats soooo slimming" I wanted to knock her head off, because I am happy the way I am and I didnt need her opinion. The dresses were dirty and she didnt give me my privacy, my mom was helping me try on the dresses and she kept on coming into the dressing room.
ERG, that was a bad experience and I drove 2 hours for it...
