Is it wrong to be a homophobic?

If being homophobic is wrong, I don't want to be right

If there is a gay man inside me,..I will name him "devil" and I will kill him

It's not fear. I'm not afraid of gay people...

I just wonder, who made up this word 'homophobic' and why would I trust them ?

I work for a psychologist and know that "homophobia" is VERY rare.

It isn't wrong to know that homosexuals are living a sinful life, because they are, but it's wrong to hate them.

You have the right to think what you will, of course. I happen to disagree with you, but I respect your right to think that way so long as you don't turn those thoughts into actions and begin to infringe on the rights and freedoms of others. But the problem with prejudice is that it very often leads to action, either by violence, or by politics and discriminatory policy (gay marriage bans, etc.) So, in my opinion, it is wrong to be homophobic -- but in my beliefs it is also wrong for me to tell you what to think. I can't change you. Just leave the rest of us alone, and don't try and force your ignorance on us.

Just cause a guy is gay it doesn't mean he wants to get on you. Take for instance men, when they look at any woman they don't immediately think....well, maybe that's a bad example. Hmmm. Now that you mention it, if guys are always thinking about sex with everything that moves, gay guys must get a lot of action!! Mebbe I could get more action if I went gay!! Hmmm...I would still have to get over that whole "anal sex" thing, yuck. How gay guys handle poopy wiener syndrome is beyond me.

But seriously, why dislike a whole group of people before you even get to know them?

This just shows your fear and weakness. You are not a strong person if you find the want to be a homophobic. But it is your own opinion and you are entitled to it, just as I am entitled to say that you may need a therapist, because any phobia can be taken care of with the right help and meds.........;)

It isn't wrong to be homophobic, as i believe most people can't always help their own gut feelings on a situation, and much is dictated by religion and how you were raised. But sharing those opinions and belittling other people is most definitely wrong, regardless of the reason for doing so.

It's wrong to call someone or suggest that someone is homophobic when they aren't. Not everyone is supportive of, or believes in "the gay lifestyle". Doesn't necessarily mean they are "homophobic".

Yes of course it's wrong. Before I say anything else, homophobia is defined as prejudice against homosexuals, not just fear.

Basically, what do you have against gay people? What could they have possibly done to you to deserve it (apart from be singled out by your religion as "immoral")? Do you think that being racist is okay? Or mysogeny? It's the same thing - discrimination against someone based on a fundimental property that has zero effect on your life.

truthfully everybody is entitled to thier opinion. although, dislikng somebody consistent with thier mattress room interest is purely undemanding OLE IGNORANT!! Homophobic is just a blanket term applied to anyone who does not approve of homosexual behavior. It's a knee-jerk defense of the lifestyle that implies bigotry where none is intended.
