Ive had 2 knee surgeries.1 was open, 1 was arthroscopic. Both to remove torn meniscus. You should do good with it, depends on how much they are taking out though.

Yes there will be some pain afterwards, but its not horrible. I was walking without crutches 8 hours afterward but had slight pain for a few weeks. Got a bit more with the therapy involved but that only lasted a couple hours after each session.

I have another one I need to get done.

You will have some pain for a little while after the surgery, but my hubby had tore the cartilage in his knee 15 yrs ago & he can do what ever he wants. He climbs ladders, plays basketball, he golfs, heck he can even do a front flip without using his hands & he lands on his feet. So if that tells you anything, the knee is great.

i'm 19 also, and my knees damage quite in many circumstances being it that i replaced into clinically determined with Arthritis. you would possibly want to favor to get your self checked for arthritis or weak spot, i.e anemia or calcium deficiency. I continuously had soreness in my joints, never quite idea i might want to ever have that, yet I do. Get it at an early degree in which it might want to be managed.. soreness: properly, all you are able to quite do is take some anti inflammatory. also, you are able to rub you knee with something like mineral ice cream or icy warm, and Advil, Tylenol, or Motrin for the soreness...[in my opinion, i pass for ibuprofen--till I actual have none at residing house.] Yoga also helps. I commonly save my knees better when I actual have soreness, because it provide me and my aching knees convenience :) best of success

Sounds like you will be in pain for a little while afterwards. You will have to give it time to heal and properly recover.
