Some guys in my class keep staring at me dreamy-eyed even though they have gfs already. This has been going on for almost a year. I didn't notice at first, but I find that they always look away hurriedly when I accidentally look towards their direction. I find this annoying.

It can't be becoz of the clothes i'm wearing since we are all obligated to wear uniforms.

Well, I guess if you put it that way, I am rather flattered. But still, I know their gfs and it's still rather inappropriate for them to do so. Anyway, I don't take them seriously.

Why? Its a compliment. It means that to them, you are physically attractive. Guys, no matter how much they are committed to a partner, will always have wandering eyes, just like women. Just be happy that for a small percentage that wandering is purely in the eyes and not in the hands and that most of us tend to avoid doing that while in the presence of our women.

This might sound insensitive, but it's probably biological although that doesn't mean it can't be stopped. However, the only way it could be stopped would probably be illegal--like averse conditioning training where you'd set up a video and have a guy look at it and everytime he displayed attraction to a pretty girl in the video, you'd give him an electric shock. Some anthropologists say it's because males have evolved so that their visual perception is harnessed to their instinct for hunting --whether it's for food or a female. That's just a theory however. If you want to read the scientific theories about this, try looking for books by E. O. Wilson, the 'sociobiologist.'
My theory is that guys are more stressed out that girls, and looking at a pretty girl increases natural tranquilizers in the brain like serotonin, and also they don't fear retribution since they are usually stronger than girls. Now imagine if there were a pretty girl who could bench press 250 pounds. If SHE told them to stop, they'd probably stop!
You can ask these guys to stop, but I doubt if that would work.

You really think girls with boyfriends don't check out other guys? Don't make me laugh. If you are involved in a committed relationship, it is ok to look. It doesn't mean anything and it is natural that someone would. It is only wrong if you touch, make a big deal about it, or ignore your significant other while doing it. If you honestly expect your boyfriend to never look at another girl, then you'll be going through a lot of boyfriends. When you find out who "doesn't" do it, it will only be because they hide it well. Stop being so self-righteous and give us a break!

why are women surprised when men look at them? they've allowed the culture to objectify them - just look at any magazine rack at a Barnes and Noble - 90% of the pictures are of attractive women. The fact that they have GF's doesn't mean they've turned blind. A healthy relationship acknowledges that there are attractive people all around - but the relationship that is founded in mutual attraction beyond physical appearance is essential. As long as it doesn't cross the line into lust and deception - I see no problem.

Are you sure they're checking YOU out, and not the girl next to you? Or, maybe it's because of that really big zit on your face that's getting their attention? (that "dreamy" expression might be one of "how can I stop staring at that???") ;)
Seriously, though, it sounds to me that you are too big on yourself! Some folks get attention because they look good, some because they don't. Some because they're just nice people, some because they're jerks. If you are nice and pretty, then, my allow me to express my heartiest "congratulations", and enjoy it while you can! If you are a snob, bully, or otherwise rotten person, then take the hint to improve yourself! Anything else isn't important.
Deal with it.

Girls (and women) do the same thing. I don't know why. My husband says I can look but I can't touch.
Or guys will turn it around and say that it's the girls fault because of the clothes they wear. I think that's a load of crap. Men (and boys) just tend to think with thier "other" heads sometimes.

Just the same as women, just because a person is attached does not mean that they are dead!
Looking is natural. Be happy someone thinks you are beautiful!
Just smile and don't pay them anymore attention. If it really bothers you - don't look at them at all. You'll never know they are gaping.
My husband always points out when another guy is checking me out. It makes him feel proud to be with me. After all who would want someone that nobody else wants?

as far as I am concerned it is because I appreciate the beauty in a person. There isn't a thing wrong with looking at a person with a pretty face, smile or whatever. So long as the person doesn't try to take it farther than that if they do have a b/f or a g/f.

Because if you keep looking you are looking creepy at a woman you can't talk too since you are taken. If you are talking about highschool then they are looking because they don't know what they want. Take nothing serious in highschool.
