Go to Yahoo groups, search for Grassroot Reiki, University of Reiki, and/or Pendulum they provide free documentations and attunements. I am a master (the teacher is for you to judge) of various reiki and healing techniques, when you passed my requirements I am willing to share the gifts to you.
Other techniques include but not limited to praying, believing, understanding, loving, sharing, and meditating. Other schools include but not limited to full spectrum healing, snow white, raku, tummo, yoga, and tantra.

I am a Reiki Master in Usui, Celtic and Fairy Realms Reiki. To be able to 'do' Reiki, which is simply acting as a channel for the universal healing energy to pass through, you have to first be attuned by a Reiki Master. There is usually a charge for this and the instruction that goes with it, but some masters will do it for free.

I think there's a lot that you can learn about Reiki online, however, I don't think you can be attuned through a book or a website or a DVD. My own understanding of it (which may be flawed) is that since it deals with a movement of energy, it should be done in real-time, not via any sort of "stored media" like books or DVDs or websites.

Reiki is not something given away. You must find a Reiki Master in order to be taught it and to receive the attunements.

At the Thireeth Community Center I had been introduced to the delitefull relaxing lite exersises. Unfortunately not enough
people had been advailableat that time to sponsor the group.
A room rental fee is needed for a group to meet regularly,
which can be posted on the NewLetter & The Centers Calendar.
Sitting on floor under a matt, streching lite exersises,
two arms forwards, held for one minute, two arms sideways
held for one minute, adaptions for related movements.
Hope to re-establish the group soon.

You could find some books on Reiki in the library. I am sorry I can't help you beyond that. Check out your library. Also, you could find a teacher, and instead of payment you could do something for them in return. (not sexual!) Like run their errands or something, of that sort, good luck.

A web search ought to provide you with a lot of sites where you can learn Reiki.
Techniques for healing the body by energy methods are all around and varied.

I'm not sure it's something you should really learn online...
