I would take her to the vet and get her checked out. I think she would be acting "crazy" like if she had rabies. She could have parvo or some other kind of sickness so its good that your keeping her away. Just make sure she see's a vet soon, so if she does have something that can treat it effectively. Hope this helps.

Check the puppy. Make sure she is alert, does not have any bald spots, etc. You can usually tell if a dog would have rabies or anything else. Does the dog act normal around you and other dogs? Send it to a shelter or better a Rescue Group. You can goto www.Petfinder.com to find one in your area. They will take care of it and get it help. Find out about the people so you know they will not mistreat it. Good luck!

10 days of isolation is what the quarantine for Rabies. A vet check would be the best thing, parvo or distemper is more likely in a pup than rabies. Get her checked and start her puppy shots and deworming. If you can not take her to a vet at least check her temperature...101-102 is normal. Check her belly for bumps, (a sign of distemper.. also flea and ant bites...) and check her stool texture and color if it looks "normal". With a puppy always assume worms...DONT USE A GROCERY STORE WORMER, especially Hartz! Get it from the vet or feed store.

First, as alot have said, check the papers to make sure nobody is missing the dog, then take it to the vet (if you want to keep her) to get updated shots and a full check up. You only need to keep an animal in a cage for 72 hours, in which if the animal had rabies, it would be very very clear. (rabid animal cannot take to being contained) If you are considering keeping the dog, bath it, flea treat it, get it some good food, and take it to the vet for a check up

You should probably take her to the vet to get her checked out. Make sure your dogs all have their shots, etc. Get the puppy her shots and keep her separate as long as the vet advises- I believe they quarantine dogs for a week or two for rabies. Make sure you wash your hands after playing with her so you don't transfer any kennel cough or other stuff to your dogs. I think you are doing a wonderful thing by taking care of this puppy. Good luck!

Well does it seem like she has rabies? Chances are if she's not acting like it she probably doesn't have it but, just to be safe you should go to a vet and get her checked out not only for rabies but to make sure she's healthy too!

Biggest threat the puppy could be to your other dogs would be Parvo, Distemper, mange or worms. If you think you will want to keep her, take her to the Vet and get her all checked out. The Vet will tell you if she is old enough to get vaccinations (I'm sure she is old enough to get her first series). He will also determine if she needs worming medications.
If you do not intend to keep her and you haven't seen any posters, ads in the paper or anyone looking for her, then you will need to either run an ad yourself to see if she is claimed or, turn her into the shelter.

The vets quarentine them for 10 days, although she needs to go to the vet to be checked for worms and viruses, you should keep quarentined for 10 days if she doesn't show any signs of rabies she should be fine. Good luck with the new pup and God Bless

Rabies is inflicted when an infected animal BITES another.
So she probably doesn't have rabies, but you do need to get the pup to the vet for immunizations...

Well, keep her seperated about 7 to 10 days, this is to see if she has parvo. In the meantime of her being seperated take her to a free or low cost shot clinic in your area. Also, if you live in Maricopa County, AZ, Alachua County, FL, Baldwin County AL, Mobile AL, Tuscaloosa AL, or NYC AND she is a pit bull or mix you can get her spayed for free through maddies fund
