I watched the video, from my viewpoint he himself caused the disturbance. He decided to step up and instead of asking the question he wanted answered, he gave rants and refused to respect the officers at hand. The officers addressed him and stepped back to allow him to finish his statement or question. They then grabbed his arm and asked him to step outside. There was not a problem until he resisted, tossing his arms around, running down the aisle, at one point you can see his forearm then his albow hit one of the officers trying to detain him. He pushed another officer while trying to escape from him. The officers made numerous requests for him to calm down and cooperate, this all occurred before the officers tasered him. Notice it's 2 and a half minutes into trying to detain this guy that the officers decided to utilize the tasers.
If he would have cooperated and steped outside in the hall when the officers requested he most likely would not have been arrested. He probably would have been asked to leave the Kerry Q and A, and there would have been no further problems.

I don't know all the facts surrounding the case, but it sounds to me that Andrew was being rude and not keeping his question short and succinct.

Does that warrant being tazered? No. He should have been escorted from the facility and released.

Everybody should have a chance to address our politicians and ask reasonable questions. But those who get the opportunity to do so, should keep their questions respectful and surrender the microphone to the next person on cue.

Looks like it's come full circle when the then student-aged (now politicians) were doing the same thing. Seems like the democratic party in general (Kerry, this time, in particular) has become "The Man" -- keeping the activists at bay.

Believe it or not, there are people out there that do stuff like that to set up cops and get it on video. When you see a video like that on the Internet you will always see the effect, never the cause.

He never did ask one or two questions. He ranted. Sen Kerry never had a chance to answer anything.

Doesn't suprise me one bit. And with the ill-informed replies that this and similar questions are getting I'd say he accomplished what he wanted to do.

Did YOU know that you are violating Community Guidelines? This is not a newsroom and you didn't actually ask a question. I see by other posts you have that this is common. Good thing I don't have a taser.

Yeah- it seemed a little ''look at me'' pre-programmed.

Did he also plan on untrained crazed campus cops to respond with unnecessary violence? Good thing they aren't allowed to have real guns or there could have been many people hurt. He must be a good planner! Maybe HE should be running for office!
